เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 13 มีนาคม 2568 คณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน ประกอบด้วย นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) และประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) นายสนั่น อังอุบลกุล ประธานกรรมการสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย และนายผยง ศรีวณิช ประธานกรรมการสมาคมธนาคารไทย พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหาร กกร. เข้าพบนางสาวแพทองธาร ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และคณะ เพื่อหารือผลกระทบของนโยบายด้านเศรษฐกิจของสหรัฐอเมริกาที่มีต่อไทย ณ ห้องสีเขียว ตึกไทยคู่ฟ้า ทำเนียบรัฐบาล
นายเกรียงไกร ได้กล่าวรายงานถึงสถานการณ์เศรษฐกิจโลกที่เปลี่ยนแปลง โดยเฉพาะนโยบายการค้าและการปรับขึ้นภาษีของสหรัฐฯ ที่อาจส่งผลต่อภาคธุรกิจไทย โดยผู้แทนจากแต่ละสถาบันได้ร่วมเสนอแนวทางการเตรียมความพร้อมรับมือผลกระทบจากนโยบายการค้าของสหรัฐอเมริกา เพื่อนำมาหารือร่วมกับรัฐบาล
สำหรับข้อเสนอของ ส.อ.ท. มุ่งเน้นไปที่แนวทางการเจรจาการค้าระหว่างไทยและสหรัฐฯ เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างกันทั้งด้านการค้าและการลงทุน เช่น การบูรณาการข้อมูลด้านการค้าและการลงทุน การเตรียมท่าทีเจรจากับสหรัฐฯ ผ่านการซื้อสินค้านำเข้าจากสหรัฐฯ มากขึ้น เพื่อลดดุลการค้า การลดภาษีนำเข้าสินค้าบางรายการ เพื่อส่งเสริมการค้า และการส่งเสริมการลงทุนร่วมกันในอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมาย
นอกจากนี้ ยังมีข้อเสนอเกี่ยวกับการเตรียมความพร้อมรับมือผลกระทบจากนโยบายการค้าของสหรัฐฯ ทั้งทางตรงและทางอ้อม อาทิ การช่วยเหลือผู้ประกอบการที่ได้รับผลกระทบ การส่งเสริมการหาตลาดใหม่ การส่งเสริมสินค้าที่ผลิตในประเทศ และการกำกับดูแลสินค้านำเข้าให้เป็นไปตามกฎหมาย
ทั้งนี้ ข้อเสนอภาคเอกชนส่วนใหญ่สอดคล้องกับสิ่งที่รัฐบาลได้เตรียมการไว้แล้ว โดยคณะทำงานนโยบายการค้าสหรัฐฯ จะมีการหารือกับ กกร. เป็นระยะ และยังให้ความสำคัญกับการแก้ไขปัญหาสินค้าที่เข้ามาทุ่มตลาด รวมถึง การตั้งทีมทำงานร่วมภาครัฐและเอกชน เพื่อหารือแนวทางการขับเคลื่อนอุตสาหกรรมในรายสาขาอุตสาหกรรมต่อไป
On Thursday, March 13, 2025, the Joint Private Sector Committee from three institutions, comprising Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Joint Private Sector Committee (JPCC), and Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Phayong Srivanit, Chairman of the Thai Bankers' Association, along with executive members of JPCC, met with Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, and her team to discuss the impact of U.S. economic policies on Thailand at the Green Room, Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House.
Mr. Kriangkrai reported on the changing global economic situation, particularly regarding U.S. trade policy and tax increases, which may affect Thai businesses. Representatives from each institution provided suggestions on how to prepare for the impacts of U.S. trade policies to bring forth for discussion with the government.
FTI's proposals focused on negotiating trade between Thailand and the United States to enhance cooperation in trade and investment, such as integrating trade and investment data, preparing negotiation stances with the U.S. through increased imports of U.S. goods to reduce the trade deficit, reducing import tariffs on certain goods to promote trade, and encouraging joint investment in targeted industries.
Additionally, there were suggestions regarding preparedness to manage the impacts of U.S. trade policies both directly and indirectly, such as supporting affected entrepreneurs, promoting new market exploration, enhancing domestic product promotion, and ensuring that imported goods comply with legal standards.
Most of the private sector's proposals align with the plans already set by the government, with the U.S. trade policy task force set to periodically consult with JPCC. There is also a focus on addressing issues concerning market disruptive products, as well as establishing collaborative teams between the public and private sectors to discuss ways to drive industry in various sectors further.
