เมื่อวันที่ 7 กรกฎาคม 2569 นางพิมพ์ใจ ลี้อิสสระนุกูล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายวิเชาวน์ รักพงษ์ไพโรจน์ รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. และประธานสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ นายปณิธาน ปวโรฬารวิทยา เลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. นายเจน นำชัยศิริ รองประธานสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ และประธานกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอ และนางสาวสุวพีร์ ศิริกุลวัฒนา รองเลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. และเลขานุการสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองเนื่องในโอกาสวันชาติสาธารณรัฐอาหรับอียิปต์ ครบรอบ 74 ปี พร้อมมอบกระเช้าดอกไม้เพื่อแสดงความยินดีแก่ H.E. Mrs. Hala Youssef Ahmed Ragab เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอาหรับอียิปต์ประจำประเทศไทย โดยมีนายอนุทิน ชาญวีรกูล นายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงมหาดไทย ร่วมกล่าวแสดงความยินดี ณ โรงแรมดิ แอทธินี กรุงเทพมหานคร
สาธารณรัฐอาหรับอียิปต์เป็นประเทศแรกในภูมิภาคแอฟริกาที่สถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตกับประเทศไทย โดยทั้งสองประเทศมีความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นมาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2497 และได้พัฒนาความร่วมมืออย่างต่อเนื่องในหลากหลายสาขา ทั้งด้านเศรษฐกิจ การค้า การลงทุน การศึกษา และวัฒนธรรม
ในช่วงที่ผ่านมา ความสัมพันธ์ไทย–อียิปต์มีพัฒนาการที่สำคัญอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งการเสด็จเยือนสาธารณรัฐอาหรับอียิปต์ของสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา เพื่อทรงร่วมพิธีเปิดพิพิธภัณฑ์ Grand Egyptian Museum ตลอดจนการขยายการลงทุนของภาคเอกชนไทยในเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษคลองสุเอซ (Suez Canal Economic Zone: SCZone) ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ยุทธศาสตร์ด้านการค้าและการลงทุนของอียิปต์
นอกจากนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอาหรับอียิปต์ประจำประเทศไทยยังได้แสดงความยินดีต่อการที่ประเทศไทยฟื้นฟูข้อริเริ่ม Thailand–Africa Initiative อย่างเป็นทางการ ซึ่งจะเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยกับประเทศในภูมิภาคแอฟริกาให้ใกล้ชิดยิ่งขึ้น
ในส่วนของภาคเอกชน ส.อ.ท. พร้อมสนับสนุนการเสริมสร้างความเชื่อมโยงด้านการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างไทยและอียิปต์ ผ่านความร่วมมือของสภาธุรกิจไทย–อียิปต์ เพื่อส่งเสริมเครือข่ายทางธุรกิจ การจับคู่ทางการค้าและการลงทุน และการขยายโอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจร่วมกันในอนาคต
On July 7, 2026, Ms. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, Chairperson of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Wichawach Rakphongpirat, Vice Chairman of FTI and Chairman of the International Affairs Committee; Mr. Panithan Pavarolnawit, Secretary-General of FTI; Mr. Jan Nunchaisiri, Vice Chairman of the International Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Textile Industry Group; and Ms. Suwapee Sirikulwattana, Deputy Secretary-General of FTI and Secretary of the International Affairs Committee, attended a reception on the occasion of the 74th National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt and presented a floral bouquet to congratulate H.E. Mrs. Hala Youssef Ahmed Ragab, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Thailand. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul also expressed his congratulations at the Athenee Hotel, Bangkok.
The Arab Republic of Egypt was the first country in the African region to establish diplomatic relations with Thailand. Both countries have maintained a strong relationship since 1954 and have continuously developed cooperation in various fields, including economics, trade, investment, education, and culture.
Recently, the Thailand–Egypt relationship has seen significant developments, including the visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana to the Arab Republic of Egypt for the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, as well as the expansion of Thai private sector investment in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), which is a strategic area for trade and investment in Egypt.
Furthermore, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Thailand also congratulated Thailand on the revival of the Thailand–Africa Initiative, which will serve as a significant mechanism to enhance cooperation between Thailand and countries in the African region.
As for the private sector, FTI stands ready to support strengthening trade and investment connections between Thailand and Egypt through the Thai–Egyptian Business Council to promote business networks, trade and investment matchmaking, and explore future economic opportunities together.
