เมื่อวันที่ 14 กันยายน 2569 นายสุภกิจ วรรณบูรณ์ ประธานสภาธุรกิจไทย–ลาตินอเมริกา ในฐานะผู้แทนสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองและร่วมแสดงความยินดีกับ H.E. Mrs. Shirley Dennise Aguilar Barrera เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐกัวเตมาลาประจำประเทศไทย เนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 205 ปีแห่งการประกาศเอกราชของสาธารณรัฐกัวเตมาลา โดยมีนายอรรถยุทธ์ ศรีสมุทร ที่ปรึกษารัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ให้เกียรติร่วมกล่าวแสดงความยินดี ณ โรงแรมไฮแอท รีเจนซี่ กรุงเทพ สุขุมวิท
กัวเตมาลามีศักยภาพในฐานะประตูสำคัญสู่ตลาดอเมริกากลาง ด้วยจุดแข็งด้านเกษตรกรรม อุตสาหกรรมอาหาร สิ่งทอ และการผลิตเพื่อการส่งออก ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับศักยภาพของภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทย โดยในปี 2570 ไทยและกัวเตมาลาจะครบรอบ 70 ปีความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูต นับเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการต่อยอดความร่วมมือด้านการค้า การลงทุน และการเชื่อมโยงภาคเอกชน เพื่อส่งเสริมผู้ประกอบการไทยให้ขยายตลาด สร้างเครือข่ายพันธมิตร และเชื่อมโยงห่วงโซ่อุปทานสู่ภูมิภาคอเมริกากลางและลาตินอเมริกา อันจะช่วยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยในระยะยาว
On September 14, 2026, Mr. Supakij Wanburana, Chairman of the Thai-Latin American Business Council and representative of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), attended a reception and congratulated H.E. Mrs. Shirley Dennise Aguilar Barrera, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to Thailand, on the occasion of the 205th anniversary of Guatemala's declaration of independence. Mr. Attayuht Srisamut, Counselor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, honored the event with his remarks at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit.
Guatemala possesses great potential as a key gateway to the Central American market, with strengths in agriculture, food processing, textiles, and export manufacturing, which align with the capabilities of the Thai industrial sector. In 2027, Thailand and Guatemala will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations, marking an important opportunity to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, and private sector connectivity to promote Thai entrepreneurs in expanding their markets, creating partnership networks, and integrating supply chains to the Central American and Latin American regions, which will help enhance the competitiveness of the Thai industrial sector in the long term.
