เมื่อวันที่ 2 พฤษภาคม 2568 ดร.ภก.นิลสุวรรณ ลีลารัศมี รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมการประชุม OECD Southeast Asia Regional Forum 2025 (OECD SEARF) ซึ่งจัดขึ้นภายใต้หัวข้อ “The OECD and Southeast Asia: Partnership for Prosperity” โดยมี นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และนายมาทีอัส คอร์มันน์ เลขาธิการ OECD ให้เกียรติกล่าวเปิดการประชุม ณ โรงแรมเดอะ ริทซ์-คาร์ลตัน กรุงเทพฯ
การประชุมดังกล่าวเป็นเวทีประชุมหารือระดับสูง เพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่าง OECD กับประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ โดยมีผู้แทนจากรัฐบาลและสถานเอกอัครราชทูตของประเทศสมาชิก OECD และประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญจาก OECD ตลอดจนหน่วยงานราชการ ภาคเอกชน และภาควิชาการของไทยเข้าร่วม
นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการประชุมหารือระหว่างภาคเอกชน ซึ่งนำโดยเครือข่ายภาคธุรกิจของประเทศสมาชิก OECD (Business at the OECD: BIAC) ร่วมกับสภาที่ปรึกษาธุรกิจอาเซียน (ASEAN BAC) ในประเด็น
ด้านการค้าและการลงทุน เทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลและ AI ซึ่ง ภก. ดร.นิลสุวรรณ ลีลารัศมี และนายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. ได้เข้าร่วมด้วย
ทั้งนี้ประเทศไทยและอินโดนีเซียเป็นสองประเทศในภูมิภาคอาเซียนที่อยู่ระหว่างกระบวนการเข้าสู่การเป็นสมาชิก OECD ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของทั้งสองประเทศในการยกระดับมาตรฐานทางเศรษฐกิจ และเสริมสร้างบทบาทการมีส่วนร่วมในเวทีโลก
และในวันเดียวกัน สถานเอกอัครราชทูตออสเตรเลียประจำประเทศไทย ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองเนื่องในโอกาสการจัดประชุม OECD Southeast Asia Regional Forum ณ ทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูตออสเตรเลียอีกด้วย
On May 2, 2025, Dr. Nilsuwan Leelarath, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated in the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Forum 2025 (OECD SEARF) held under the theme "The OECD and Southeast Asia: Partnership for Prosperity." The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Maris Sangiemphong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD, who delivered the opening remarks at The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok.
The forum served as a high-level discussion platform aimed at enhancing cooperation between the OECD and countries in the Southeast Asian region, with representatives from the governments and embassies of OECD member countries, Southeast Asian nations, experts from the OECD, as well as officials from Thai government agencies, the private sector, and academia in attendance.
Additionally, there were discussions among the private sector led by the Business at the OECD (BIAC) network alongside the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) on topics concerning trade and investment, digital technology, and AI. Dr. Nilsuwan Leelarath and Mr. Wethit Chokwatana, Vice Chairman of the FTI, also participated in these discussions.
Both Thailand and Indonesia are two countries in the ASEAN region undergoing the process of becoming OECD members, reflecting their commitment to raising economic standards and enhancing their roles in the global arena. On the same day, the Australian Embassy in Thailand hosted a reception to commemorate the organization of the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Forum at the residence of the Australian Ambassador.
