ส.อ.ท. ร่วมเอ็มเทค สวทช. จัดงาน MEDDrive Forum & Workshop ขับเคลื่อนการเปลี่ยนผ่านจากผู้ผลิตชิ้นส่วนยานยนต์สู่ผู้ผลิตเครื่องมือแพทย์ไทยFTI Collaborates with MTEC to Organize MEDDrive Forum & Workshop Driving the Transition from Automotive Parts Manufacturing to Thai Medical Device Production

On July 8, 2026, the Innovation Institute for Industry (INNO) of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) collaborated with the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), to organize a seminar and workshop under the theme “Transitioning from Automotive Parts Manufacturing to Thai Medical Device Production” (MEDDrive Forum & Workshop: Medical Device Industry Transformation) at the WHX: World Health Expo Bangkok. The event aimed to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and create business opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs, particularly automotive parts manufacturers with potential to transition into medical device production at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok.

This occasion was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Termsak Srikhirin, Director of the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), NSTDA, who delivered the opening remarks and presented the vision for driving Thailand's medical device innovation ecosystem through the integration of cooperation between the public sector, private sector, and research sector to accelerate technology development and enhance Thai entrepreneurs' competitiveness on an international level.

Furthermore, Mr. Suthee Triwiwatwong, Chairman of the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry Group, FTI, attended the event as a representative of the Federation of Thai Industries to exchange views on the development of the Thai medical device industry, reflecting the role of the industrial sector in supporting entrepreneurs to enhance capacities from the automotive industry and existing manufacturing to high-value, internationally standardized medical device production.

The event featured lectures and discussions by experts from the public sector, private sector, and research institutions, covering topics related to technology, product design and development, standards and registration of medical devices, as well as ways to commercialize research results.

Additionally, the MEDDrive platform was introduced as a crucial mechanism for linking entrepreneurs with research institutions, testing laboratories, experts, and networks of partners to accelerate product development effectively for market readiness.
