ส.อ.ท. ผนึกกำลังสมาคมหล่อโลหะไทย ถอดรหัสกฎหมายสิ่งแวดล้อม พร้อมผลักดันการใช้ CEMS ในโรงหล่อFTI Collaborates with the Thai Metal Casting Association to Decode Environmental Law and Promote the Use of CEMS in Foundries

On December 17, 2025, the Metal Casting Industry Group of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) collaborated with the Thai Metal Casting Industry Association to hold a seminar entitled “Foundries Must Survive: Safe and Not Subject to Fines” to decode laws on air pollution management and the practical implementation of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS). Mr. Apichit Prasoprat, FTI Vice President, presided over the event, and Mr. Chuchai Kampheejaiporn, Chairman of the Metal Casting Industry Group of FTI, welcomed attendees at the Jubilee Prestige Hotel Ratchadapisek.

Mr. Chuchai stated that the main objective of the event was to prepare factory operators to have a correct understanding of environmental law so that they could comply with regulations properly, thus preventing fines, while aiming to elevate the standards of Thai industrial factories to be widely accepted.

Mr. Apichit delivered a keynote address, emphasizing that the industrial sector must accelerate adaptation through the “4 GO” strategy to cope with economic fluctuations and new global regulations, which include:
1. Go Digital & AI: Utilize technology to reduce costs and address labor shortages.
2. Go Innovation: Transition to creating innovations (ODM/OBM) to enhance value.
3. Go Global: Expand opportunities for Thai products in the global market.
4. Go Green: Aim for Net Zero, which aligns with the theme of this seminar where the casting industry must adapt environmentally for survival and sustainability.

Additionally, Mr. Apichit discussed ways to assist FTI members in achieving tangible outcomes in three main areas: cost reduction through an employee health check project that helped members save over 50 million baht; sales promotion through the FTI e-Member Card, which provides benefits and generated over 10 million baht in revolving sales; and opportunities for globalization with the APEC Card and rapid e-C/O system that supports Thai entrepreneurs in competing effectively on the global stage.

The atmosphere at the event was filled with in-depth knowledge from esteemed speakers, including academics, businesspeople, and representatives from regulatory agencies who provided comprehensive information on air pollution laws and the implementation of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) to allow operators to apply these practices effectively. Additionally, there were booths showcasing products and innovations in metal casting to promote the capabilities of the Thai industry.
