On March 31, 2026, Ms. Banchusa Puthprommongkol, a board member of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and Vice Chairman of the Economic and Academic Affairs Division, participated in the seminar “Thailand and Asia Pacific Infrastructure Outlook 2026” held at the Siam Piman Hall, The Athenee Hotel.
The seminar was organized to promote and develop regional infrastructure trends, which impact financial risks and investment potential, while presenting future trends and directions from Fitch Ratings, organized by Fitch Ratings, a leading global organization in assessing creditworthiness and debt repayment capacity of enterprises.
During the event, a discussion took place among experts from various companies under the topic “Infrastructure, REITs and Private Credit Developments.” Fitch Ratings expressed concerns about external factors affecting the Thai economy, such as rising public debt, household debt, and private sector debt, leading investors to be more cautious in managing liabilities.
Moreover, conflicts in the Middle East have impacted energy costs, placing pressure on the petroleum, utility, and construction materials industries, which still face a gradually recovering demand.
Experts suggested that the business sector utilize REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) as a tool for managing balance sheet risks, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors (PPP) in infrastructure development to maintain long-term investment attractiveness.
