The domestic sales of automobiles in March 2026 totaled 59,865 units, reflecting a 24.09 percent increase from February 2026 and a 7.29 percent increase from March 2025. However, sales of pickups saw a 6.36 percent decrease compared to March of the previous year due to tightened credit releases from financial institutions amid low economic growth and concerns over customers’ ability to meet repayment schedules. The new government is urged to expedite the presentation of policy and budget proposals for fiscal year 2027 to facilitate investments in various projects quickly and enhance confidence among both domestic and foreign investors, fostering job creation and income for Thai people. With an increase in economic growth aligned with neighboring countries, this will further boost investor confidence and lead to a cycle of sustained high economic growth, enabling Thailand to finally transition away from its status as a middle-income country. There is a need to stimulate industries with robust supply chains and substantial labor forces, thereby increasing production more than in the previous year. The industrial production index is expected to grow by double digits, utilizing over 70 percent of total production capacity, leading to more job opportunities for Thai citizens.
