เมื่อวันที่ 10 พฤษภาคม 2569 นายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธานอาวุโส และประธานสายงานอาเซียนและโลจิสติกส์ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วย นายอรินทร์ จิรา ASEAN-BAC Alumni และ ดร.ธัญลักษณ์ ธนปกิจ ผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ เข้าร่วมการประชุม 106th ASEAN-BAC Meeting และ 2nd ASEAN-BAC Retreat ในฐานะผู้แทนภาคเอกชนไทย ร่วมกับผู้แทนจากสมาคมธนาคารไทย และสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย ณ โรงแรม Crimson Resort and Spa เมืองโบราไกย์ สาธารณรัฐฟิลิปปินส์
ในการประชุม 2nd ASEAN-BAC Retreat ที่ประชุมได้หารือถึงผลกระทบจากความท้าทายทางเศรษฐกิจโลก ความผันผวนด้านพลังงาน ความมั่นคงทางอาหาร และสถานการณ์ด้านภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ที่อาจส่งผลต่อภูมิภาคอาเซียน โดยผู้เข้าร่วมประชุมได้ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับแนวทางเสริมสร้างความยืดหยุ่นทางเศรษฐกิจ การพัฒนาห่วงโซ่อุปทานในภูมิภาค ตลอดจนการจัดทำข้อเสนอเชิงนโยบายเพื่อเสนอต่อผู้นำอาเซียนในการประชุมสุดยอดอาเซียนต่อไป
นอกจากนี้ ในการประชุม 106th ASEAN-BAC Meeting ที่ประชุมยังได้ติดตามความคืบหน้าการดำเนินงานของคณะทำงานภายใต้ ASEAN-BAC ในด้านต่าง ๆ อาทิ Digital and Innovation, Supply Chain and Economic Integration, Sustainability, Agriculture and Food Security และ Creative Economy รวมถึงการส่งเสริมศักยภาพของ MSMEs และผู้ประกอบการสตรีในภูมิภาค เพื่อสนับสนุนการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจของอาเซียนอย่างสมดุลและยั่งยืน
อีกทั้ง ที่ประชุมยังได้หารือแนวทางการเสริมสร้างความเข้มแข็งของ ASEAN-BAC ในระยะต่อไป ทั้งด้านโครงสร้างองค์กร การขยายความร่วมมือกับภาคธุรกิจระหว่างประเทศ และการผลักดันบทบาทของ ASEAN-BAC ในฐานะกลไกสำคัญในการเชื่อมโยงความร่วมมือระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนในภูมิภาคอาเซียน
On May 10, 2026, Mr. Vithit Chokwatana, Senior Vice President and Chairman of the ASEAN and Logistics Division of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Arin Jira, ASEAN-BAC Alumni, and Dr. Thanyalak Thanapakij, Director of International Affairs, participated in the 106th ASEAN-BAC Meeting and the 2nd ASEAN-BAC Retreat as representatives of the Thai private sector, together with representatives from the Thai Bankers' Association and the Thai Chamber of Commerce at the Crimson Resort and Spa in Boracay, Philippines.
During the 2nd ASEAN-BAC Retreat, the participants discussed the impacts of challenges from the global economy, energy volatility, food security, and geopolitical situations that may affect the ASEAN region. Participants exchanged views on approaches to enhance economic resilience, develop regional supply chains, and prepare policy recommendations for ASEAN leaders for future ASEAN summits.
Additionally, in the 106th ASEAN-BAC Meeting, the progress of various working groups under ASEAN-BAC was reviewed, including those on Digital and Innovation, Supply Chain and Economic Integration, Sustainability, Agriculture and Food Security, and Creative Economy, as well as promoting the potential of MSMEs and women entrepreneurs in the region to support balanced and sustainable economic growth in ASEAN.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed ways to strengthen ASEAN-BAC moving forward, including organizational structure, expanding collaboration with international business sectors, and enhancing the role of ASEAN-BAC as a key mechanism for connecting cooperation between the public and private sectors in the ASEAN region.
