เมื่อวันที่ 3 สิงหาคม 2569 นายเจน นำชัยศิริ รองประธานสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วย นางสาวสุวพีร์ ศิริกุลวัฒนา เลขานุการสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ และนายชยุตม์ ศรีเพียร เลขานุการคณะอนุกรรมการส่งเสริมการค้าและการลงทุน ให้การต้อนรับ H.E. Mrs. Constance Chemwayi เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐซิมบับเวประจำประเทศไทย ซึ่งมีถิ่นพำนัก ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ เนื่องในโอกาสเดินทางเยือนประเทศไทยเพื่อหารือแนวทางการจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างไทยและซิมบับเว ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ส.อ.ท.
ในการหารือ เอกอัครราชทูตซิมบับเวประจำประเทศไทยได้แจ้งว่า Dr. Kembo C. D. Mohadi รองประธานาธิบดีแห่งสาธารณรัฐซิมบับเว มีกำหนดเดินทางเยือนประเทศไทยในช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2569 โดยมีแผนจัดงาน Zimbabwe–Thailand Business Forum ณ กรุงเทพมหานคร เพื่อส่งเสริมการเชื่อมโยงเครือข่ายภาคเอกชนของทั้งสองประเทศ ตลอดจนขยายโอกาสด้านการค้า การลงทุน และความร่วมมือทางธุรกิจในอนาคต
ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการค้าและการลงทุนให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดแก่ภาคธุรกิจของทั้งสองประเทศ โดยผู้แทน ส.อ.ท. ได้แนะนำบทบาท ภารกิจ และเครือข่ายขององค์กร ซึ่งประกอบด้วย 48 กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรม และสภาอุตสาหกรรมจังหวัด 76 แห่งทั่วประเทศ สะท้อนศักยภาพของ ส.อ.ท. ในการเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการเชื่อมโยงภาคเอกชนไทยกับคู่ค้าจากต่างประเทศ
นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องถึงศักยภาพในการขยายความร่วมมือในสาขาอุตสาหกรรมที่มีความสนใจร่วมกัน อาทิ อุตสาหกรรมเกษตรและอาหาร อุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์และชิ้นส่วน อุตสาหกรรมเฟอร์นิเจอร์ และอุตสาหกรรมอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับ พร้อมทั้งสนับสนุนการสร้างเครือข่ายทางธุรกิจระหว่างภาคเอกชนของทั้งสองประเทศผ่านกิจกรรม Business Forum และ Business Matching เพื่อส่งเสริมให้เกิดความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจต่อไป
On August 3, 2026, Mr. Jan Namchaisi, Vice Chairman of Foreign Affairs of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Ms. Suwapee Sirikulwattana, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Chayut Sripean, Secretary of the Subcommittee on Trade and Investment Promotion, welcomed H.E. Mrs. Constance Chemwayi, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Thailand, who resides in Kuala Lumpur, on the occasion of her visit to Thailand to discuss ways to organize trade and investment promotion activities between Thailand and Zimbabwe at the Mongkolsuthi Room, FTI.
During the discussion, the Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Thailand informed that Dr. Kembo C. D. Mohadi, Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, is scheduled to visit Thailand in November 2026, with plans to hold the Zimbabwe–Thailand Business Forum in Bangkok to promote the networking of the private sectors of both countries, as well as to expand opportunities for trade, investment, and future business cooperation.
Both parties exchanged views on how to organize trade and investment promotion activities to maximize benefits for the business sectors of both countries. FTI representatives introduced the roles, missions, and networks of the organization, which comprises 48 industry groups and 76 provincial industrial councils across the country, reflecting FTI's potential as a vital mechanism in connecting the Thai private sector with international partners.
In addition, both parties agreed on the potential to expand collaboration in sectors of mutual interest, such as agriculture and food industry, automotive and parts industry, furniture industry, and gemstones and jewelry industry, while also supporting the establishment of business networks between the private sectors of both countries through Business Forum and Business Matching activities to promote economic cooperation in the future.
