ร่วมเป็นวิทยากรในงาน Techsauce Global Summit 2026 ในหัวข้อ “Decoding The NEXT Investment: What Global Companies Really Want” ร่วมกับ Vibeke Lyssand Leirvåg Chairwoman, Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) และ ดร.
ได้วางยุทธศาสตร์ 5I ภายใต้วิสัยทัศน์ “The New Chapter of Thai Industry: Empowering Growth with 5I” เพื่อเป็นกรอบในการยกระดับภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทย ประกอบด้วย I1: Intelligent Industry ยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมด้วยเทคโนโลยีอัจฉริยะ I2: Innovation & Creative Industry ขับเคลื่อนด้วยนวัตกรรมและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ I3:International Alliance & Network เชื่อมโยงพันธมิตรและเครือข่ายระหว่างประเทศ I4:Industrial Infrastructure Reform ปฏิรูปโครงสร้างพื้นฐานอุตสาหกรรม และ I5: Inclusive Sustainability สร้างการเติบโตที่ครอบคลุมและยั่งยืน
FTI indicated that Thailand still possesses strengths in infrastructure, production bases, logistics, energy, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) networks, which are significant advantages in attracting investment from around the world. However, amidst geopolitical volatility and rising production costs, Thailand must accelerate the enhancement of industrial capabilities while creating a balance between attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and promoting domestic direct investment (DDI) to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth.
On August 27, 2026, Mr. Montree Mahapruetpong, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated as a speaker at the Techsauce Global Summit 2026 on the topic “Decoding The NEXT Investment: What Global Companies Really Want,” alongside Vibeke Lyssand Leirvåg, Chairwoman of the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT), and Dr. Chonchit Vorawongsosakul, Assistant Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Mr. Montree stated that amidst intensifying competition to attract investment, global investors are seeking countries that are prepared and can accommodate long-term changes. Thailand continues to possess essential strengths, including infrastructure, production bases, logistics systems, energy security, domestic markets, and free trade agreements (FTA) networks, which support its role as a manufacturing base and economic hub in the region.
However, the Thai industrial sector still faces pressure from economic and geopolitical volatility, particularly the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East that might affect production costs, purchasing power, and demand from trading partners. Meanwhile, Thailand's economic growth exhibits a K-shaped pattern, leading to uneven expansion.
Therefore, the challenge lies not only in “attracting investment into the country” but also in ensuring that investments are linked and create added value for the Thai economy broadly. In addition to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI), Thailand should also prioritize domestic direct investment (DDI) from Thai entrepreneurs concurrently to strengthen Thai businesses and foster growth throughout the supply chain.
The FTI has established the 5I strategy under the vision of “The New Chapter of Thai Industry: Empowering Growth with 5I” as a framework to elevate the Thai industrial sector, consisting of I1: Intelligent Industry, enhancing industries with smart technology; I2: Innovation & Creative Industry, driven by innovation and creativity; I3: International Alliance & Network, connecting partners and international networks; I4: Industrial Infrastructure Reform, reforming industrial infrastructure; and I5: Inclusive Sustainability, fostering inclusive and sustainable growth.
At the same time, Thailand also benefits from its geographical location and geopolitical neutrality, which facilitates supply chain connections with various countries in ASEAN. If it can continue to enhance its infrastructure, improve production efficiency, and create an investment-friendly ecosystem, it will increase Thailand's attractiveness as a manufacturing base and an economic hub in the region.
The FTI confirms its commitment to work alongside both the public and private sectors to promote investments that generate added value, connect Thai entrepreneurs to the global supply chain, and enhance the capabilities of the Thai industry to be "ready for investment, ready for change, and ready to compete on the global stage."
