เมื่อวันที่ 18 มิถุนายน 2569 ดร.สวนิตย์ บุญญาสุวัฒน์ รองประธานสถาบันน้ำ สิ่งแวดล้อม และ Climate Change สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ในฐานะผู้แทนสภาธุรกิจ IMT-GT Joint Business Council ประเทศไทย เข้าร่วมการประชุมคณะทำงานด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ครั้งที่ 6 (6th IMT-GT Working Group on Environment (WGE) Meeting: 6th WGE) ภายใต้แผนงานการพัฒนาเขตเศรษฐกิจสามฝ่าย อินโดนีเซีย–มาเลเซีย–ไทย (Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle: IMT-GT) ณ เมืองเมดาน ประเทศอินโดนีเซีย และผ่านระบบการประชุมทางไกล
การประชุมครั้งนี้มุ่งขับเคลื่อนความยั่งยืนด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมในระดับอนุภูมิภาคให้เกิดผลลัพธ์อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม โดยประเทศอินโดนีเซียในฐานะเจ้าภาพได้เน้นย้ำลำดับความสำคัญ 3 ประการ ได้แก่
(1) การเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาค
(2) การพัฒนาแผนงานสู่โครงการที่สามารถดำเนินการได้จริง อาทิ การจัดการขยะและการคุ้มครองทรัพยากรทางทะเล และ
(3) การเชื่อมโยงทุกภาคส่วนให้มีส่วนร่วมอย่างครอบคลุม
ที่ประชุมได้ทบทวนความคืบหน้าการดำเนินงานตามแผน Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022–2026 ซึ่งปัจจุบันมีโครงการที่อยู่ระหว่างการดำเนินงานรวม 17 โครงการ โดยมีประเด็นสำคัญที่น่าสนใจ ได้แก่ การจัดการเหตุการณ์น้ำมันรั่วไหล ซึ่งประเทศไทยเป็นผู้นำในการจัดสัมมนาเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนแนวปฏิบัติที่ดี รวมถึงความคืบหน้าการพัฒนามาตรฐาน Battery Passport สำหรับยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าของประเทศมาเลเซีย เพื่อสนับสนุนการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียนในระดับสากลภายในกลุ่มประเทศสมาชิก
นอกจากนี้ ที่ประชุมยังได้รับข้อเสนอความร่วมมือจากภาคเอกชนและเครือข่ายมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อต่อยอดการดำเนินโครงการในอนาคต โดยประเทศมาเลเซียได้เสนอตัวเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมคณะทำงานด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ครั้งที่ 7 ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ในเดือนมิถุนายน 2570 เพื่อสานต่อความร่วมมือในการขับเคลื่อนการอนุรักษ์และพัฒนาด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมของภูมิภาคอย่างต่อเนื่อง
On June 18, 2026, Dr. Suwanit Boonyasuwat, Vice President of the Water, Environment and Climate Change Institute of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), representing the IMT-GT Joint Business Council Thailand, participated in the 6th Working Group on Environment (6th IMT-GT Working Group on Environment (WGE) Meeting: 6th WGE) under the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) development plan held in Medan, Indonesia, and via a remote meeting.
This meeting aimed to drive environmental sustainability at the sub-regional level toward tangible outcomes. Indonesia, as the host country, emphasized three priority areas:
(1) Strengthening regional cooperation
(2) Developing actionable project plans such as waste management and marine resource protection, and
(3) Connecting all sectors for comprehensive participation.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022–2026, which currently has 17 ongoing projects. Notable issues included the management of oil spill incidents, for which Thailand leads a seminar to exchange best practices, as well as the progress in developing the Battery Passport standard for electric vehicles in Malaysia to support the advancement of a circular economy internationally among member countries.
Additionally, the meeting received collaboration proposals from the private sector and university networks to build upon future project implementations. Malaysia proposed to host the 7th Working Group on Environment meeting in Kuala Lumpur in June 2027 to continue the cooperation in promoting environmental conservation and development in the region.
