เมื่อวันที่ 12-15 มิถุนายน 2567 นายอรินทร์ จิรา รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เป็นผู้แทนเข้าร่วมประชุมสภาธุรกิจเอเชียตะวันออก (East Asia Business Council : EABC) ครั้งที่ 60 ณ ห้องประชุม Korea International Trade Association กรุงโซล สาธารณรัฐเกาหลี ซึ่งการประชุมดังกล่าวเป็นเวทีระดับภูมิภาคที่อำนวยความสะดวกในการเจรจาและความร่วมมือระหว่างผู้นำธุรกิจจากประเทศในอาเซียนและเอเชียตะวันออก (เกาหลีใต้ ญี่ปุ่น และจีน) เพื่อระดมความเห็นและให้ข้อเสนอแนะภาคเอกชนเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาค รวมทั้งสร้างความเข้มแข็งของความร่วมมือระหว่างภาคเอกชนของอาเซียนและเอเชียตะวันออก และการส่งเสริมการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างกันภายในภูมิภาค
ทั้งนี้ การดำเนินงานในปี 2567 นั้น EABC ให้ความสำคัญกับความร่วมมือหลากหลายด้าน ได้แก่ การส่งเสริมค้าและการลงทุน การเงิน มาตรฐานสินค้า ทรัพย์สินทางปัญญา การท่องเที่ยว อาหาร เกษตร SMEs และความร่วมมือด้านสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อม การเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ พลังงาน สิ่งแวดล้อม และการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน
สำหรับในวันที่ 14 มิถุนายน 2567 ผู้แทน Korea International Trade Association ซึ่งเป็นเจ้าภาพการจัดการประชุม EABC ได้นำคณะผู้แทน EABC ประเทศไทยเข้าชมงาน NextRise 2024, Seoul ซึ่งเป็นงาน Showcase และ Fund Matching สำหรับผู้ประกอบการสตาร์ทอัพ (Startup) จากทั่วทุกมุมโลกกว่า 400 ราย และผู้เข้าร่วมงานมากกว่า 25,000 คน
นอกจากนี้ นายธานี แสงรัตน์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงโซล ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพงานเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวัน เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่คณะผู้แทน EABC ประเทศไทยในโอกาสเข้าร่วมประชุม ณ ทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูต อีกด้วย
From June 12-15, 2024, Mr. Arin Jira, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), represented the organization at the 60th East Asia Business Council (EABC) meeting held at the Korea International Trade Association conference hall in Seoul, South Korea. This meeting served as a regional platform facilitating dialogue and cooperation among business leaders from ASEAN countries and East Asia (South Korea, Japan, and China) to gather opinions and provide private sector recommendations on economic cooperation and growth in the region, as well as to strengthen private sector collaboration between ASEAN and East Asia and promote trade and investment within the region.
In 2024, EABC emphasizes cooperation in various areas, including trade and investment promotion, finance, product standards, intellectual property, tourism, food, agriculture, SMEs, social and environmental cooperation, climate change, energy, environmental sustainability, and development.
On June 14, 2024, representatives from the Korea International Trade Association, the host of the EABC meeting, led a delegation of EABC Thailand representatives to visit the NextRise 2024 event in Seoul, showcasing over 400 startup entrepreneurs from around the world and attracting more than 25,000 participants.
Additionally, Mr. Thani Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to Seoul, hosted a luncheon in honor of the EABC Thailand delegation on the occasion of their participation in the meeting at the Ambassador's residence.
