เมื่อวันที่ 25 มิถุนายน 2567 นายชาติชาย พานิชชีวะ รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายญาณพล ลิมปนะโชคชัย รองเลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. และประธานสภาธุรกิจไทย-แอฟริกาใต้ นายพงษ์เดช ศรีวชิรประดิษฐ์ รองประธานสถาบันเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถมนุษย์ ได้ให้การต้อนรับ Chief Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo บุตรีของประธานาธิบดีแห่งสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐไนจีเรีย และคณะนักธุรกิจจากไนจีเรีย โดยมีกรรมการและสมาชิกกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมเข้าร่วมให้การต้อนรับและหารือ ณ ห้องประชุม Passion Room (802) ชั้น 8 ส.อ.ท.
ที่ประชุมได้มีการหารือความร่วมมือระหว่างภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยและไนจีเรีย โดยเฉพาะด้านสินค้าเกษตร อาหาร อุตสาหกรรมยา เครื่องมือทางการแพทย์ เหมืองแร่ ปิโตรเลียม เป็นต้น
ทั้งนี้ ส.อ.ท. ยินดีที่จะช่วยเป็นตัวกลางในการประสานงานระหว่างสมาชิก ส.อ.ท.และนักธุรกิจไนจีเรียที่ต้องการขยายโอกาสความร่วมมือในอุตสาหกรรมดังกล่าว ซึ่งจากการเดินทางเยือนประเทศไทยในครั้งนี้ ได้มีการลงนามสัญญาซื้อขายผลิตภัณฑ์ ByeByeHIV จากบริษัท เอเชียน ไฟย์โตซูติคอลส์ จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ APCO เป็นจำนวน 1 ล้านขวดในปีแรก และได้แต่งตั้งให้บริษัท อาเมสซี่ โฮลดิ้ง อินเตอร์ กรุ๊ป จำกัด (มหาชน) เป็นผู้แทนจำหน่ายแต่ผู้เดียวในทวีปแอฟริกา โดยมีเป้าหมายในการจำหน่ายปีละ 1 ล้านขวดต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลา 5 ปี
ในปี 2566 ไนจีเรียเป็นประเทศคู่ค้าอันดับที่ 4 ของไทยในแอฟริกา มีปริมาณการค้ารวม 780.57 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ นอกจากนี้ ไนจีเรียยังเป็นสมาชิกของกลุ่มประชาคมเศรษฐกิจแห่งรัฐแอฟริกาตะวันตก (ECOWAS) ซึ่งประกอบด้วยสมาชิก 15 ประเทศ มีประชากรราว 400 ล้านคน ซึ่งนับว่าเป็นประเทศที่มีศักยภาพมากและเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่ผู้ประกอบการไทยจะได้ขยายตลาดการค้าไปยังกลุ่มประเทศเหล่านี้
On June 25, 2024, Mr. Chatchai Panitcheewa, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Yanapol Limpanachokechai, Deputy Secretary-General of FTI, and Mr. Pongdech Sriwatchirapradit, Vice President of the Thai-South Africa Business Council, welcomed Chief Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, along with a business delegation from Nigeria. The meeting included board members and members of the industry group who participated in the welcoming and discussions at the Passion Room (802) on the 8th floor of FTI.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the Thai and Nigerian industrial sectors, particularly in agricultural products, food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, mining, and petroleum, among others.
FTI expressed its willingness to act as a mediator to facilitate coordination between FTI members and Nigerian businesspeople who wish to expand cooperation opportunities in these industries. During this visit to Thailand, a contract was signed for the purchase of ByeByeHIV products from Asian Phytopharmaceuticals Public Company Limited (APCO) for 1 million bottles in the first year and appointed Amessy Holding Inter Group Public Company Limited as the sole distributor in Africa, aiming to sell 1 million bottles annually for a continuous period of 5 years.
In 2023, Nigeria was Thailand's 4th largest trading partner in Africa, with a total trade volume of 780.57 million US dollars. Additionally, Nigeria is a member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which comprises 15 member countries with a population of approximately 400 million. This presents significant potential and a great opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs to expand their trade markets to these countries.
