เมื่อวันที่ 24 มิถุนายน 2569 นางพิมพ์ใจ ลี้อิสสระนุกูล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายวิเชาวน์ รักพงษ์ไพโรจน์ รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. และประธานสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ นายปณิธาน ปวโรฬารวิทยา เลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. นายเจน นำชัยศิริ รองประธานสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ และประธานกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอ และนางสาวสุวพีร์ ศิริกุลวัฒนา รองเลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. และเลขานุการสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ H.E. Mrs. Hala Youssef Ahmed RAGAB เอกอัครราชทูตแห่งสาธารณรัฐอียิปต์ประจำประเทศไทย ในโอกาสเข้าพบเพื่อแสดงความยินดีเนื่องในโอกาสเข้ารับตำแหน่งประธาน ส.อ.ท. และหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจและการท่องเที่ยว ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ส.อ.ท.
ในการหารือ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจ การค้า และอุตสาหกรรมระหว่างไทยและอียิปต์ ซึ่งมีพัฒนาการที่ดีอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยในปีที่ผ่านมา ไทยและอียิปต์มีมูลค่าการค้ารวมประมาณ 974 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ ครอบคลุมสินค้าสำคัญหลายประเภท อาทิ ยานยนต์และชิ้นส่วน อาหารแปรรูป ผลิตภัณฑ์ยาง เหล็ก และสิ่งทอ นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือถึงโอกาสในการขยายความร่วมมือด้านวัฒนธรรมและการท่องเที่ยว ซึ่งมีแนวโน้มเติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่องและมีส่วนสำคัญในการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประชาชนของทั้งสองประเทศ
ในโอกาสดังกล่าว เอกอัครราชทูตอียิปต์ได้กล่าวถึงศักยภาพของอียิปต์ในฐานะศูนย์กลางการผลิต การค้า และการลงทุนที่สำคัญของภูมิภาค โดยมีจุดแข็งด้านความมั่นคงทางพลังงาน ตลาดภายในประเทศขนาดใหญ่ที่มีประชากรวัยแรงงานจำนวนมาก และมาตรการส่งเสริมการลงทุนจากต่างประเทศที่รัฐบาลดำเนินการอย่างต่อเนื่อง พร้อมย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการกระชับความร่วมมือระหว่างอียิปต์กับประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน โดยเฉพาะประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นพันธมิตรที่มีความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตอันยาวนานและใกล้ชิด
ทั้งนี้ ประธาน ส.อ.ท. ได้แสดงความพร้อมในการผลักดันความร่วมมือทางธุรกิจระหว่างสองประเทศผ่านกลไกสภาธุรกิจไทย–อียิปต์ ภายใต้การดูแลของสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย เพื่อส่งเสริมการค้า การลงทุน และการเชื่อมโยงภาคเอกชนของทั้งสองประเทศให้ใกล้ชิดยิ่งขึ้น อันจะนำไปสู่การขยายความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและอุตสาหกรรมในอนาคต
On June 24, 2026, Ms. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, Chairperson of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Vichawun Rukpongpairat, Vice Chairman of FTI and Chairman of the International Affairs Committee, Mr. Panithan Pavarolnarawit, Secretary-General of FTI, Mr. Jan Namchaisir, Vice Chairman of the International Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Textile Industry Group, and Ms. Suvapee Sirikulwatana, Deputy Secretary-General of FTI and Secretary of the International Affairs Committee, welcomed H.E. Mrs. Hala Youssef Ahmed RAGAB, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Thailand, on the occasion of her congratulatory visit upon taking office as Chairperson of FTI and to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of economy and tourism at the Mongkolsuthe Room, FTI.
During the discussions, both parties exchanged views on enhancing economic, trade, and industrial cooperation between Thailand and Egypt, which has shown continuous development. In the past year, the total trade value between Thailand and Egypt was approximately 974 million USD, covering several key products including automobiles and parts, processed foods, rubber products, steel, and textiles. Additionally, both parties discussed opportunities to expand cultural and tourism cooperation, which is continuously growing and plays an important role in promoting relations between the peoples of both countries.
On this occasion, the Egyptian Ambassador highlighted Egypt's potential as a significant hub for production, trade, and investment in the region, citing strengths in energy security, a large domestic market with a substantial workforce population, and ongoing measures to promote foreign investment implemented by the government. She also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Egypt and ASEAN member countries, particularly Thailand, which has a long-standing and close diplomatic relationship.
The Chairperson of FTI expressed readiness to promote business cooperation between the two countries through the Thailand–Egypt Business Council under the auspices of the Federation of Thai Industries, to enhance trade, investment, and private sector connectivity of both countries, ultimately leading to the expansion of future economic and industrial cooperation.
