วันพฤหัสบดีที่ 22 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมเป็นวิทยากรงานสัมมนาเชิงปฏิบัติการ The Life Long Lens (LLL): Starting Right For Transformation จัดโดย DCC Synergy ณ โรงแรม JW Marriott สุขุมวิท 2 กรุงเทพฯ
นายเกรียงไกร ได้นำเสนอความท้าทายของเศรษฐกิจและการผลิตโลกในยุคปัจจุบันว่าประกอบไปด้วยหลายส่วน ทั้งในด้านของสงครามการค้าหรือสงครามเทคโนโลยี สงครามภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อการขนส่งและต้นทุนการผลิตของประเทศ ภาวะโลกเดือดที่ก่อให้เกิดการกีดกันทางการค้า โดยการเก็บภาษีตามจำนวนการใช้พลังงาน และโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง Technology Disruption ที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อภาคอุตสาหกรรมเป็นอย่างมาก อย่างการใช้ AI ที่ส่งผลให้บางอาชีพในอุตสาหกรรมถูกแทนที่ด้วยเทคโนโลยี หรือแม้แต่การเข้ามาของแอปใหม่จีนอย่าง Temu นั้น ก็สร้างผลกระทบเป็นวงกว้างต่ออุตสาหกรรมไทยและ SME คือ ผู้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบที่รุนแรงที่สุด
ด้านสงครามทางการค้าของสหรัฐและจีน ประเทศไทยนั้นได้รับผลกระทบเช่นกัน เนื่องจากการที่สหรัฐฯ กีดกันการค้าจากจีนด้วยการขึ้นภาษีนำเข้านั้น ส่งผลให้ประเทศจีนต้องการหาตลาดแห่งใหม่ในการปล่อยสินค้าที่มีการผลิตออกมาในปริมาณมาก ซึ่งก็คือ ภูมิภาคอาเซียน จึงเป็นที่มาของการระบายสินค้าออกสู่ตลาดหรือการทุ่มตลาด
ประเทศไทยมีปัจจัยจากหลายภาคส่วนที่ส่งผลต่อความสามารถในการแข่งขัน อาทิเช่น ปัญหาเชิงโครงสร้าง ต้นทุนในการผลิตสูง การขาดเทคโนโลยีหรือนวัตกรรมในการช่วยลดต้นทุนและเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการผลิต ผลิตภาพแรงงานที่ต่ำเมื่อเทียบกับประเทศคู่แข่งขัน กฏหมายที่ล้าสมัยและการทุจริตภายใน รวมถึงการแข่งขันที่รุนแรงและปัญหาการทุ่มตลาด
อย่างไรก็ตาม ส.อ.ท. มีเป้าหมายในการส่งเสริมและยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมไทย โดยการยกระดับขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมเดิม (First Industries) และสร้างเครื่องยนต์ใหม่ในการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนในอุตสาหกรรมใหม่ (Next-Gen Industries) โดยจะมุ่งไปที่โรงงานสีเขียว (Green Industry) เทคโนโลยีสะอาด (Clean Technology) และการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ (Net Zero) ซึ่ง ส.อ.ท. จะขับเคลื่อน BCG สู่เป้าหมาย SDGs ต่อไป
ส.อ.ท. เชื่อมั่นว่า การร่วมมือกันผลักดันและขับเคลื่อนในครั้งนี้ จะช่วยเป็นแรงหนุนหลังให้ผู้ประกอบการและอุตสาหกรรมไทย เพื่อมุ่งสู่ความยั่งยืนต่อไปในอนาคต
On Thursday, August 22, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated as a speaker in the workshop seminar The Life Long Lens (LLL): Starting Right For Transformation organized by DCC Synergy at the JW Marriott Sukhumvit 2 Hotel, Bangkok.
Mr. Kriangkrai presented the challenges of the global economy and manufacturing in the current era, which consists of multiple components, including trade wars, technology conflicts, and geopolitical tensions that impact transportation and production costs in the country. The heated global environment has also led to trade barriers, including taxes based on energy consumption. Particularly, Technology Disruption significantly affects the industrial sector; for instance, the use of AI is resulting in certain occupations being replaced by technology. Furthermore, the introduction of new Chinese apps like Temu has a widespread impact on Thai industries and SMEs, which are the most severely affected.
Regarding the trade war between the United States and China, Thailand has also been affected, as the U.S. restricts trade from China by implementing import tariffs, prompting China to seek new markets for its large-scale production, particularly in the ASEAN region. This is the source of product dumping into the market.
Thailand faces several structural factors that impact its competitiveness, such as high production costs, a lack of technology or innovation to reduce costs and enhance efficiency, low labor productivity compared to competing countries, outdated laws, corruption, as well as fierce competition and market dumping issues.
Nevertheless, FTI aims to promote and elevate Thai industries by enhancing the competitiveness of existing industries (First Industries) and creating new engines to drive the economy and sustainable development in new industries (Next-Gen Industries). This will focus on green factories (Green Industry), clean technology (Clean Technology), and achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (Net Zero). FTI will continue to drive the BCG agenda towards SDGs goals.
FTI is confident that the collaborative efforts in this drive will provide a supportive boost to Thai entrepreneurs and industries toward sustainability in the future.
