ระหว่างวันที่ 10-13 กันยายน 2567 ดร.ภก.นิลสุวรรณ ลีลารัศมี รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วย ดร.ปิยะนุช มาลากุล ณ อยุธยา รองประธานและเหรัญญิก ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วมการประชุม WTO Public Forum 2024 จัดโดยองค์การการค้าโลก (WTO) ภายใต้หัวข้อ “Re-globalization: Better Trade for a Better World” ณ สำนักงานใหญ่ WTO นครเจนีวา ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์
ภายในการประชุม เน้นถึงประเด็นของความครอบคลุม (Inclusivity) คือ การพัฒนาการค้าโลกให้ส่งเสริมโอกาสในมิติต่างๆ อย่างครอบคลุมมากขึ้น อาทิ การให้ประเทศกําลังพัฒนามีบทบาทมากขึ้น สนับสนุนความเสมอภาคทางเพศ และส่งเสริมโอกาสผู้ประกอบการรายย่อย (SMEs) และการปรับโลกาภิวัตน์โลก (Re-globalization) โดยทิศทางการ Re-globalization ในปัจจุบันที่ทำให้เกิดการกระจาย (Decentralize) ห่วงโซ่อุปทานและเพิ่มบทบาทของภูมิภาคในการค้าโลกมากขึ้น หัวข้อรอง คือ นโยบายการค้าที่มิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อผลประโยชน์สูงสุดของการค้า (Green policies to maximise the benefits of trade) การค้าบริการเพื่อการพัฒนาสวัสดิการ (Services trade to build progress and enhance welfare) และการใช้ระบบดิจิทัลกระตุ้นการค้าที่ให้ความสำคัญกับทุกภาคส่วน (Digitalisation as a catalyst for inclusive trade) แสดงให้เห็นถึงการเข้ามาของระบบดิจิทัลที่มากขึ้นในปัจจุบัน และประเด็นสำคัญของการค้าโลกที่จะต้องหารือถึงกฎระเบียบ เพื่อกำหนดแนวทางของการใช้ระบบดิจิทัลต่อไป
ในการประชุม มีหัวข้อในการประชุมทั้งหมด 138 หัวข้อ มีผู้บรรยายจากภาครัฐ ภาคประชาสังคม และภาคเอกชนทั้งหมด 640 คน และมีผู้เข้าร่วมทั้งหมดราว 4,400 คน โดยผู้ที่สนใจสามารถรับชมการประชุมในบางหัวข้อย้อนหลังได้ที่ https://www.wto.org/english/forums_e/public_forum24_e/public_forum24_e.htm
ทั้งนี้ ในโอกาสเดินทางเข้าร่วมประชุมฯ ผู้แทน ส.อ.ท. ได้เข้าพบ หารือ และร่วมรับประทานอาหารค่ำกับนางพิมพ์ชนก พิตต์ฟีลด์ เอกอัครราชทูต คณะผู้แทนถาวรไทยประจำองค์การการค้าโลกและองค์การทรัพย์สินทางปัญญาโลก และคณะผู้แทนกระทรวงพาณิชย์ที่เข้าร่วมประชุม WTO Public Forum ในประเด็นการค้าที่เกี่ยวข้อง พร้อมกันนี้ ผู้แทน ส.อ.ท. ยังได้แนะนำสิทธิประโยชน์ของสมาชิก ส.อ.ท. และมอบ FTI e-Member Card สำหรับหน่วยงานราชการให้กับคณะผู้แทนถาวรไทยฯ อีกด้วย
Between September 10-13, 2024, Dr. Pakkapol Nilsuwan Leelarasamee, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Dr. Piyanooch Malakul Na Ayutthaya, Vice President and Treasurer of FTI, participated in the WTO Public Forum 2024 organized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) under the theme “Re-globalization: Better Trade for a Better World” at the WTO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
The forum emphasized the issue of inclusivity, focusing on enhancing global trade opportunities across various dimensions, such as increasing the role of developing countries, promoting gender equality, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and embracing global re-globalization. The current direction of re-globalization entails the decentralization of supply chains and an increased regional role in global trade. Other subtopics included environmentally friendly trade policies aimed at maximizing trade benefits (Green policies to maximise the benefits of trade), service trade for welfare development (Services trade to build progress and enhance welfare), and the use of digital systems as a catalyst for inclusive trade (Digitalisation as a catalyst for inclusive trade), highlighting the growing significance of digital systems today. Discussions also considered crucial aspects of global trade regulations to establish guidelines for future digital system utilization.
The forum featured a total of 138 discussion topics with 640 speakers from the government, civil society, and the private sector, and approximately 4,400 participants attended. During this trip, representatives of FTI met, discussed, and had dinner with Ms. Pimchanok Pittfield, Ambassador of the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the WTO and the World Intellectual Property Organization, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Commerce participating in the WTO Public Forum on related trade issues. Additionally, FTI representatives introduced the benefits of FTI membership and provided FTI e-Member Cards for government agencies to the Thai Permanent Mission delegation.
