On September 29, 2024, Mr. Arun Iamsuri, Chairman of the Thailand-China Economic and Investment Institute of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated in a lecture titled "Opportunities and Challenges for Thai Entrepreneurs" at the Seminar on Import and Export Strategies for Entrepreneurs held at the Meeting Room of Krirk University.
Mr. Arun discussed the global economic situation, which faces challenges from geopolitical issues, trade wars, and the influx of Chinese goods into the Thai market, as well as measures to prepare for these issues. FTI has established measures to cope with imported goods that do not meet mandatory standards, both online and offline, by creating awareness and educating consumers about product standard labels. Additionally, FTI has engaged in discussions with the private sector to elevate products by selecting items from general standards to mandatory standards. He also addressed domestic market strategies in China and opportunities for Thai products in the Chinese market, highlighting China's potential as the largest trading market in the world and a free trade zone that facilitates easier access for Thai products into the Chinese market.
The event featured speakers from both government and private sectors, including Miss Natnapis Chulakanit, a Senior Commerce Academic from the Department of International Trade Promotion, who shared information about the department's role in promoting and supporting exporters. Miss Suphawan Saelee, a partner at Unicoco Co., Ltd., shared her experiences exporting fruit products to China.
This seminar presents a valuable opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs to learn and prepare for the upcoming challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
