ส.อ.ท. เดินหน้าขับเคลื่อนอุตสาหกรรมไทย ยกระดับขีดความสามารถการแข่งขันประเทศ ในประชุม กส.FTI Advances Thai Industry, Enhances National Competitiveness at Board Meeting

On Monday, June 29, 2026, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) held the 5th/2026 (3) Board Meeting, led by Mrs. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, Chairperson of FTI, along with Mr. Kitti Tangjitrmanisakda, Senior Vice Chairman of FTI, and President of the Legal Affairs Division, Mr. Isares Ratnadilok na Phuket, Registrar of FTI, Mrs. Ketsamanee Lertkitja, Treasurer of FTI, and Mr. Panithan Pawarolwanvithya, Secretary-General of FTI, who convened with the FTI Board of Directors from across the country at Meeting Room 109, 1st Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Prior to the meeting, significant activities and courses of FTI were promoted to enhance the capabilities of members and entrepreneurs, including

• The "Showcase Thai Industry" event providing members space to present business capabilities and innovations.
• The 4th Thailand Industrial Science Course (I.S.C. 4), under the concept of Reinventing Business with the 5PX Framework, aimed at developing leadership potential in the industrial sector.
• An industrial study visit project to the creative industry in Taipei, Taiwan, to enhance knowledge and elevate the competitive capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs.

This Board Meeting discussed important agendas beneficial to advancing the industrial sector, including

1. The Chairperson of FTI and the executive team offered prayers and signed the condolence book for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narindra Thep Mahaprasit, at the Sahathai Samakkee Hall in the Grand Palace on June 16, 2026. FTI is currently coordinating to host the merit-making ceremony for the royal funeral in October 2026.

2. The Chairperson of FTI and the executive team met with Professor Yossanan WongSawad, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, on June 23, 2026, to promote cooperation to enhance the capability of the Thai industrial sector, presenting cooperation in four key areas: 1. Fund for the Development of Thai Industry through Science, Technology, and Innovation (The New Chapter of Thai Industry Fund) 2. Transfer of essential technology from abroad (In-Licensing Strategic Technology) 3. Improving Thai industrial productivity with Industry 4.0 (Improving Productivity with Industry 4.0) and 4. Development of high-performance human capital for the industrial sector (Human Capital Development).

3. The Chairperson of FTI and the executive team visited Phitsanulok Province on June 18, 2026, to advance the 5I policy in collaboration with local members, promoting Creative City, Circular Economy, developing GI products, and enhancing the capabilities of entrepreneurs to sustainably increase the competitive capacities of the industrial sector.

4. The meeting approved the appointment of a committee to supervise the criteria, methods, and conditions for certifying and issuing the Made in Thailand (MiT) label for the years 2026-2028 to drive the implementation of Made in Thailand according to FTI regulations, overseeing the certification of the MiT label, promoting the use of Thai products, enhancing cooperation with public and private sectors, and raising standards of Thai products to improve the competitive capacity of the Thai industrial sector.

5. The meeting approved the membership report for June 2026, revealing 51 new members joined and 57 members resigned, resulting in a net decrease of 6 members. As of June 18, 2026, the total membership stands at 16,707, an increase of 640 from the end of 2025.

6. The meeting confirmed the revenue and expenses report for FTI for May 2026, showing revenues of 155.51 million baht and expenses of 128.51 million baht, resulting in a net profit of 27.00 million baht.

7. An update was provided on the progress of important agendas as per the Prime Minister's directives, encompassing the promotion of funding sources and resolution of SME issues, the development of the Missing Link network from Chumphon to Ranong, energy transition initiatives, advancement of proposals through the General Assembly platform, promotion of Made in Thailand (MiT), legal and regulatory reforms, and enhancements in industrial waste management to improve the competitiveness of the Thai industrial sector.

8. Urgent efforts are underway to resolve issues related to the registration of foreign labor, as the appointment system for Smart Cards in Bangkok has been consistently oversubscribed, impacting the industrial sector. A letter was sent to the Minister of Labor on June 23, 2026, requesting expedited resolution of this issue.

9. Employers nationwide are invited to register and exercise their voting rights for the Social Security Board elections scheduled for September 27, 2026, with representatives from the employer side to be nominated for election to the Social Security Board, including Mr. Namchay Eckpatanapanit, Executive Board Member of FTI, and Mr. Surachit Wongkung, to represent employers in setting policies and directions for social security fund management and enhancing the welfare of insured persons.

10. FTI has established three key committees to drive important policies: the Strong Provincial Industrial Committee, the Reform of Structures and Management Committee of FTI, and the committee for sourcing a new office for FTI, along with the appointment of a committee for transparency to enhance organizational management efficiency, transparency, and support long-term organizational development.
