เมื่อวันพุธที่ 30 ตุลาคม 2567 ดร.ภก.นิลสุวรรณ ลีลารัศมี รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมการเสวนาหัวข้อ "Thailand's OECD Accession as Transformative Process: What is being transformed?" ในงานเปิดตัวกระบวนการหารือเข้าเป็นสมาชิกองค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนา (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development: OECD) อย่างเป็นทางการของไทย จัดโดยกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ โดยภายในงานได้รับเกียรติจาก H.E. Mr. Mathias Cormann เลขาธิการ OECD ร่วมกล่าวปาฐกถาพิเศษ และนายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศร่วมกล่าวเปิดงาน โดยเน้นถึงโอกาสในการยกระดับเศรษฐกิจของไทยจากการเข้าร่วม OECD ณ ห้องประชุมวิเทศสโมสร กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ
ในการเสวนา ดร.ภก.นิลสุวรรณ ได้นำเสนอถึงความท้าทายของอุตสาหกรรมไทย ที่มาจากเศรษฐกิจโลกและจากปัจจัยเชิงโครงสร้างของประเทศไทย รวมถึงนำเสนอแนวทางยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมไทยของสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย ที่มีความสอดคล้องต่อมาตรฐานสากล อาทิ การสนับสนุนการลงทุนในอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมาย S-Curve การยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมด้วยเทคโนโลยี การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมอย่างยั่งยืน (BCG & ESG) รวมถึงการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาศักยภาพของผู้ประกอบการ SMEs เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน เป็นต้น
การเข้าร่วม OECD ของประเทศไทยนั้น จะเป็นโอกาสให้ภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยได้เรียนรู้มาตรฐานการดำเนินธุรกิจจากสมาชิก OECD ไปจนถึงพัฒนาด้านกฏระเบียบของประเทศไทยให้ได้มาตรฐานสากล
ทั้งนี้ ในช่วงเสวนามี Mr. Alexander Böhmer ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงาน Global Relations and Cooperation จาก OECD ร่วมนำเสนอถึงมุมมองการสนับสนุนประเทศไทยผ่านกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของประเทศไทย และดร. วันฉัตร สุวรรณกิตติ รองเลขาธิการสำนักงานสภาพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ ร่วมนำเสนอถึงการดำเนินงานของภาครัฐในการเข้าร่วมกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Dr. Phak Nitsuwann Lilaratamee, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated in a forum titled "Thailand's OECD Accession as Transformative Process: What is being transformed?" at the official launch of the discussion process for Thailand's membership in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), hosted by the Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event was honored by a special address from H.E. Mr. Mathias Cormann, OECD Secretary-General, and remarks by Mr. Maris Sangiamphong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who emphasized the opportunities for enhancing Thailand's economy through OECD membership at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' International Club meeting.
During the forum, Dr. Phak Nitsuwann presented the challenges facing the Thai industry, arising from the global economy and structural factors within Thailand. He also proposed strategies to enhance the Thai industry in alignment with international standards, such as supporting investments in S-Curve target industries, upgrading the industry through technology, developing sustainable industries (BCG & ESG), and promoting and enhancing the capabilities of SMEs to increase competitiveness, among others.
Thailand's participation in the OECD will provide opportunities for the Thai industrial sector to learn business operation standards from OECD members and to develop Thailand's regulations to meet international standards.
During the forum, Mr. Alexander Böhmer, Director of the Global Relations and Cooperation Office at the OECD, also presented views on supporting Thailand through its OECD membership process, while Dr. Wanchat Suwannakitti, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council, discussed government actions in the process of joining the OECD.
