วันที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน 2567 นายปรนนท์ ฐิตะวรรโณ รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) และประธานสถาบันเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสารเพื่ออุตสาหกรรม (ICTI) เข้าร่วมประชุมสัมมนาทางวิชาการสำหรับผู้กำหนดนโยบาย นักวิจัย และธุรกิจในประเทศไทย จัดโดยสถาบันวิจัยเพื่อการพัฒนาประเทศไทย (ทีดีอาร์ไอ) ร่วมกับ East Asia & Pacific Chief Economist Research Center (EAP) และธนาคารโลก ณ สถาบันวิจัยเพื่อการพัฒนาประเทศไทย (ทีดีอาร์ไอ)
ทั้งนี้ นายปรนนท์ได้ร่วมเวทีเสวนา Policy Panel ในหัวข้อ “How can Thailand Harness Technology for Development?” ร่วมกับ ดร.อานันท์ชนก สกนธวัฒน์ สำนักงานสภาพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ ดร.เวทางค์ พ่วงทรัพย์ รองปลัดกระทรวงดิจิทัลเพื่อเศรษฐกิจและสังคม และนายพงษ์สิทธิ์ จงเรืองลาภหัวหน้าฝ่ายพัฒนาธุรกิจ บริษัท เออร์เบิน โมบิลิตี้เทค จำกัด (MuvMi)
นายปรนนท์ ได้กล่าวถึง สถานะความพร้อมของของสมาชิก ส.อ.ท. ในฐานะตัวแทนภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทย ผลกระทบที่สมาชิกได้รับจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงของเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลและแนวทางการปรับตัว การเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่ยุคอุตสาหกรรม 4.0 ส่งผลกระทบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญต่อภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทย โดยธุรกิจต่าง ๆ ต้องเร่งปรับตัวเพื่อรักษาความสามารถในการแข่งขันในเวทีโลก ซึ่งผลกระทบที่สำคัญ ได้แก่ การเพิ่มขึ้นของต้นทุนการผลิต ความจำเป็นในการพัฒนากระบวนการให้เป็นระบบอัตโนมัติ และการเผชิญกับความท้าทายด้านแรงงานในการใช้เทคโนโลยีใหม่
เพื่อรองรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ ภาคอุตสาหกรรมจึงต้องมุ่งเน้นไปที่การเร่งพัฒนาขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันโดยนำเทคโนโลยีเช่น IoT, AI และระบบอัตโนมัติมาใช้ในกระบวนการผลิต เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพและลดต้นทุน ขณะเดียวกันยังต้องส่งเสริมการพัฒนาแรงงานด้วยการฝึกอบรมทักษะด้านเทคโนโลยี
นอกจากนี้ ภาคอุตสาหกรรมยังต้องให้ความสำคัญกับการดำเนินงานตามมาตรฐานความยั่งยืนด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม (ESG) เพื่อสร้างความมั่นคงในระยะยาวและสามารถตอบสนองต่อความต้องการของตลาดโลก ตลอดจนนโยบาย “ONE FTI” ที่จะเป็นนโยบายหลักที่จะช่วยขับเคลื่อนและยกระดับศักยภาพของสมาชิกอย่างยั่งยืน
On November 4, 2024, Mr. Pornnatt Thitavarrnro, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and President of the Information and Communication Technology Institute for Industry (ICTI), attended an academic seminar for policymakers, researchers, and businesses in Thailand organized by the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) in collaboration with the East Asia & Pacific Chief Economist Research Center (EAP) and the World Bank at the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI).
During this event, Mr. Pornnatt participated in the Policy Panel discussion on the topic “How can Thailand Harness Technology for Development?” alongside Dr. Anan Charnakarnwattana from the National Economic and Social Development Council, Dr. Vethang Pungsap, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, and Mr. Pongsathit Jongruanglap, Head of Business Development at Urban Mobilitytech Co., Ltd. (MuvMi).
Mr. Pornnatt addressed the readiness of FTI members as representatives of the Thai industrial sector, the impacts that members are experiencing from the changes brought by digital technology, and the adaptation strategies required for transitioning to Industry 4.0. These transitions significantly affect the Thai industrial sector, requiring businesses to rapidly adjust to maintain their competitiveness in the global arena. Notable impacts include rising production costs, the need for developing automated processes, and challenges related to workforce adaptation to new technologies.
To accommodate these changes, the industrial sector must focus on accelerating the enhancement of competitive capabilities by integrating technologies such as IoT, AI, and automation systems into production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs, while also promoting workforce development through technology skills training.
Moreover, the industrial sector should emphasize adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability standards to ensure long-term stability and responsiveness to global market demands, alongside the “ONE FTI” policy, which will serve as a core strategy to drive and elevate the sustainable potential of its members.
