วันพุธที่ 2 เมษายน 2568 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ได้เข้าร่วมแถลงข่าวการเตรียมความพร้อมของไทยต่อนโยบายการค้าสหรัฐอเมริกา โดยมีนายวุฒิไกร ลีวีระพันธุ์ ปลัดกระทรวงพาณิชย์ ในฐานะประธานคณะทำงานนโยบายการค้าสหรัฐอเมริกา เป็นประธานในการแถลงข่าว ร่วมกับหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง อาทิ กระทรวงต่างประเทศ กระทรวงพลังงาน สำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุน สำนักงานเศรษฐกิจการเกษตร และสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย โดยการแถลงข่าวครั้งนี้ได้มีการนำเสนอสรุปภาพรวมการเตรียมการของไทยต่อนโยบายการค้าสหรัฐฯ ความคืบหน้าการจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการลงทุนและการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านพลังงานระหว่างไทย-สหรัฐอเมริกา รวมทั้งการเตรียมความพร้อมในส่วนของภาคเอกชนเพื่อรับมือนโยบายการค้าสหรัฐฯ ณ ศูนย์การประชุมแห่งชาติสิริกิติ์
นายเกรียงไกร กล่าวว่า นโยบายของโดนัลด์ ทรัมป์ ประธานาธิบดีสหรัฐอเมริกาให้ความสำคัญใน 2 เรื่อง 1) การดำเนินนโยบายการปรับขึ้นภาษีนำเข้า (Tariff) เพื่อสร้างความเป็นธรรมทางการค้ากับสหรัฐฯ 2) การดึงดูดการลงทุนกลับประเทศสหรัฐฯ (Reshoring) โดยที่ผ่านมา ส.อ.ท. ได้มีการหารือและทำงานร่วมกับคณะทำงานนโยบายการค้าสหรัฐอเมริกา เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมด้านข้อมูลและท่าทีของไทยในการเจรจาการค้ากับสหรัฐฯ ขณะเดียวกัน ส.อ.ท. ได้มีการตั้ง War room หารือร่วมกับกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องเพื่อศึกษาข้อมูลรายการสินค้าส่งออกที่คาดว่าจะได้รับผลกระทบจากนโยบายการปรับขึ้นภาษีนำเข้าของสหรัฐฯ และแนวทางการเจรจาความร่วมมือระหว่าง 2 ประเทศ รวมทั้งจะร่วมกับกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมในการติดตามปัญหาสินค้าที่เข้ามาสวมสิทธิ์ไทยในการส่งออก โดยจะมีการพัฒนาแพลตฟอร์ม “FTI EYE” เพื่อรับข้อร้องเรียนดังกล่าว
On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated in a press conference regarding Thailand's preparedness for U.S. trade policy, which was chaired by Mr. Wuttikrai Liewvirapund, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, alongside relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Energy, the Office of the Board of Investment, the Office of Agricultural Economics, and the Thai Chamber of Commerce. The press conference presented an overview of Thailand's preparations for U.S. trade policy, updates on activities to promote investment and energy cooperation between Thailand and the United States, as well as the readiness of the private sector to respond to U.S. trade policy at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Mr. Kriangkrai stated that the policy of Donald Trump, President of the United States, focuses on two key areas: 1) the implementation of import tariff increases to create fair trade with the U.S.; and 2) attracting investment back to the United States (reshoring). In the past, the FTI has engaged in discussions and collaborated with the U.S. Trade Policy Task Force to prepare data and Thailand's stance for trade negotiations with the U.S. At the same time, the FTI established a War Room to discuss with related industrial groups to study data on export products likely to be affected by the U.S. tariff increases and strategies for cooperation negotiations between the two countries. Furthermore, it will work with industrial groups to monitor issues related to products that incorrectly claim Thai rights for export, and will develop the platform “FTI EYE” to receive such complaints.
