ประธาน ส.อ.ท. ร่วมเสวนา “พลิกเกมสู้เศรษฐกิจโลกป่วน” ชี้ไทยต้องเร่งปรับตัวสู่เศรษฐกิจอนาคตPresident of FTI Participates in Forum "Turning the Game to Combat Global Economic Turbulence" Highlights Thailand's Need to Adapt for Future Economy

On October 8, 2025, Khun Kriangkrai Theeranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), had the honor of participating as a speaker in the forum titled "Turning the Game to Combat Global Economic Turbulence" alongside Dr. Phaj Aramwatananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Payong Sriwattanakool, President of the Thai Bankers Association during the announcement of results and the presentation of the Excellence in Private Sector Leadership Awards for the year 2025 (CEO Econmass Awards 2025), organized by the Economic Journalists Association, in collaboration with the Joint Private Sector Committee (JSCC), the Office of the State Enterprise Policy Commission (SEPC), and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce at Aksra Theatre, King Power, Bangkok.

The event was graced by Khun Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who delivered a keynote speech titled “Resetting the Country's Structure Recovering the Thai Economy” and honored the presentation of the Excellence in Private Sector Leadership Awards for the year 2025, totaling 20 awards.

During the forum on the topic “Turning the Game to Combat Global Economic Turbulence,” Khun Kriangkrai discussed the forecast for the Thai economy in the third quarter of 2025, which is expected to be at 1.7%, and in the fourth quarter at 0.3%. Meanwhile, the Joint Private Sector Committee (JSCC) estimates that the Thai economy for the entire year of 2025 will be between 1.8% and 2.2%. For the year 2026, foreign institutions predict that the Thai economy will grow by 2%, driven by the clarity of the United States' import tax measures, but attention must still be paid to the issues regarding exports and tourism affected by the continuously strengthening Thai Baht.

Moreover, Thailand needs to transform its traditional industries into future industries by creating a skilled workforce through Upskilling and Reskilling to align with target industries. It is essential to promote development towards being Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) and owning brands (OBM). Furthermore, the FTI has been driving policies known as 4GO, which include GO Digital & AI, GO Innovation, GO Global, and GO Green, to rapidly elevate and sustainably enhance the country's competitiveness.
