เมื่อวันที่ 22 กรกฎาคม 2569 ดร. สวนิตย์ บุญญาสุวัฒน์ รองประธานสถาบันน้ำ สิ่งแวดล้อม และ Climate Change และอนุกรรมการส่งเสริมธุรกิจภูมิภาคอาเซียน สายงานอาเซียนและโลจิสติกส์ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ได้ร่วมเสนอมุมมองและยุทธศาสตร์ขับเคลื่อนการลงทุนสีเขียวในระดับภูมิภาค บนเวทีกิจกรรมคู่ขนานของการประชุม Mekong Forum 2026 ภายใต้หัวข้อ “Pioneering Sustainable Hubs in the Lancang-Mekong Region: Advancing Green Investment and Intra-Regional Trade through the Eastern Economic Corridor” ณ โรงแรมแกรนด์ เซนเตอร์ พอยต์ ลุมพินี กรุงเทพฯ
ภายในเวทีเสวนา ดร. สวนิตย์ ได้ชูระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคตะวันออก (EEC) ของไทยเป็นต้นแบบการพัฒนาเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษคาร์บอนต่ำ พร้อมส่งสัญญาณถึงภาคเอกชนไทยและอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขงให้เร่งปรับตัวรับมือกฎระเบียบสิ่งแวดล้อมโลก โดยย้ำชัดว่าการเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่ความยั่งยืนมิใช่ทางเลือกอีกต่อไป แต่คือ “ความอยู่รอดทางการค้า”
ด้านการเปิดเผยถึงแนวทางการปรับตัวภาคปฏิบัติของภาคอุตสาหกรรม ดร. สวนิตย์ ได้เน้นย้ำถึงมาตรการการค้าโลก (Global Directives) ที่กำลังเข้ามามีบทบาทสำคัญ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นมาตรการปรับคาร์บอนก่อนเข้าพรมแดนของยุโรป (CBAM) กฎระเบียบสินค้าปราศจากการตัดไม้ทำลายป่า (EUDR) ตลอดจนกฎระเบียบด้านบรรจุภัณฑ์ การออกแบบที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม และพาสปอร์ตผลิตภัณฑ์ดิจิทัล
นอกจากนี้ ยังได้ระบุถึงความจำเป็นในการทำบัญชีคาร์บอน (Carbon Accounting) การใช้มาตรฐานการรายงานสากล และการประยุกต์ใช้เกณฑ์การเงินสีเขียว (Taxonomy) เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมรองรับร่าง พ.ร.บ. การเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ (Climate Act) ของไทย ควบคู่ไปกับการเสนอแนะให้มีการสนับสนุนกลุ่มผู้ประกอบการ SMEs ทั้งในด้านเทคโนโลยี โครงสร้างพื้นฐาน งบประมาณช่วยเหลือ และที่ปรึกษาทางเทคนิคอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม
ทั้งนี้ การประชุม Mekong Forum 2026 จัดโดย สถาบันความร่วมมือเพื่อพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจลุ่มน้ำโขง (Mekong Institute : MI) ร่วมกับ กระทรวงพาณิชย์ โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนจากกองทุนพิเศษความร่วมมือล้านช้าง-แม่โขง (Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund : LMCSF) เพื่อผลักดันการเปลี่ยนผ่านไปสู่เศรษฐกิจสีเขียวในระดับภูมิภาค
On July 22, 2026, Dr. Suwanit Boonyasuwa, Vice President of the Water, Environment, and Climate Change Institute and Sub-Committee on Promoting ASEAN Regional Business, ASEAN Logistics of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), presented insights and strategies for advancing green investments at the parallel event of the Mekong Forum 2026, under the theme “Pioneering Sustainable Hubs in the Lancang-Mekong Region: Advancing Green Investment and Intra-Regional Trade through the Eastern Economic Corridor,” held at the Grand Center Point Hotel, Lumpini, Bangkok.
During the discussion, Dr. Suwanit emphasized Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as a model for developing low-carbon special economic zones and urged the Thai private sector and the sub-region around the Mekong River to expedite adaptation to global environmental regulations, reiterating that the shift towards sustainability is no longer optional but essential for “trade survival.”
Regarding the industry's adaptation strategies, Dr. Suwanit highlighted the importance of Global Directives that are increasingly becoming prominent, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) in Europe, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), as well as regulations on packaging, eco-friendly design, and digital product passports.
Additionally, he noted the necessity of carbon accounting, adherence to international reporting standards, and the application of green finance taxonomy in preparation for Thailand's Climate Act, along with recommendations for concrete support of SMEs in technology, infrastructure, funding assistance, and technical advisory.
The Mekong Forum 2026 is organized by the Mekong Institute (MI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and is supported by the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund (LMCSF) to promote the transition to a green economy at the regional level.
