On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Krit Imsang, Secretary-General of FTI, Mr. Nava Janthanasurakorn, Vice Chairman of FTI and Chairman of FTI's Corporate Communications Group, Mr. Apichit Pasornrat, Vice Chairman of FTI, Mr. Apipob Phungchanchaikul, Deputy Secretary-General of FTI, and Vice Chairman of the Corporate Communications Group, welcomed the Economic Journalists Association, led by Ms. Duangporn Udomtip, President of the Economic Journalists Association (Thai Rath Newspaper), Ms. Suphannee Phutphisut, Secretary-General of the Association (Thanhoon Newspaper), Ms. Yaowalak Boranmun, the Association's Executive (Thai News Agency), and Ms. Wutthinee Thapthong, Academic Committee Member of the Association (Prachachart Business Newspaper), to introduce the new executive committee of the Economic Journalists Association and discuss cooperation in economic and industrial matters at the Passion Meeting Room (802), 8th Floor, FTI.

Mr. Kriangkrai discussed the policies driving FTI's agenda 2, stating that in the first agenda, it moved forward with ONE FTI (One Vision, One Team, One Goal), focusing on the advancement of First Industries or traditional industries and expanding towards Next-GEN Industries in 12 new target industries or future industries (S-Curves) driven by the BCG Model (Bio-Circular-Green), which is the current global direction. For this second agenda, there will be a strong emphasis on addressing issues for SMEs by collaborating with the government to identify measures that will support SMEs nationwide in transitioning from ordinary SMEs to “Smart SMEs.” There are four key areas of focus: 1. Go Digital - Elevating SMEs nationwide. 2. Go Innovation - Enhancing “Small but Mighty” SMEs through innovation to support SMEs and startups in developing new innovative products and adding value to goods. 3. Go Global - Enabling SME entrepreneurs to produce and sell products abroad to standards recognized internationally. 4. Go Green - Encouraging SME entrepreneurs to produce products and follow processes that are environmentally friendly.

All four Go initiatives are policies that will complement the ONE FTI policy. If these strategic plans are executed, it will greatly enhance the competitiveness of SME operators in the Thai manufacturing sector.

The Economic Journalists Association has been in operation for 46 years, entering its 47th year, and maintains a good relationship and ongoing cooperation with FTI. During this discussion, the association had the opportunity to present the Thailand CEO ECONMASS Awards 2024, which will be held in October, aimed at recognizing and honoring private sector executives who have led their organizations to become leading business entities in the country, as well as inspiring the business sector to enhance their competitive capabilities to an international level and create added value for Thai products and services.

Furthermore, FTI expressed gratitude to the Economic Journalists Association and the economic journalists for their ongoing cooperation and support in disseminating news and activities related to FTI. The ONE FTI policy is seen as a solution for the Thai industry, and it is hoped that the Economic Journalists Association and the economic journalists will expand these policies further for the benefit of society and Thailand.
