On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) organized a gift package event for SMEs in 2024, gathering over 50 partner agencies from both the public and private sectors to provide services in finance, innovation, digital technology, research, and marketing. Over 300 SMEs participated in the event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Mr. Apichit Prasoprat, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and Chairman of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Development Institute (SMI), who chaired the event, stated that this gift package event for SMEs organized by the SMI of the FTI has been held for the second consecutive year. From previous surveys of FTI members and SMEs nationwide, it was found that there are issues related to accessibility to government services, as these agencies are located in different places, making it inconvenient to travel for services. Furthermore, each online contact may not provide complete information, and some agencies do not have services in regional areas. Therefore, the “Gift Package for SMEs” event was organized. Last year, the event was held in 20 provinces, receiving quite a positive response, and this year it aims to visit another 20 provinces, focusing on areas that still lack opportunities for various services, such as Chanthaburi, Trat, Amnat Charoen, Sakon Nakhon, Surin, Buriram, Phrae, Nan, Phitsanulok, Tak, and Phetchabun, with a goal of providing services to 1,000 SMEs.
“The Federation of Thai Industries would like to express our gratitude to the partner agencies that are committed to developing the SMEs of the country together, especially in supporting the organization of the event, including the Small Industry Credit Guarantee Corporation (Sithichok), Kasikorn Bank, KPMG Thailand, SME Development Bank, Government Savings Bank, Exim Bank, Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), Sahapat Group Public Company Limited, Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd., Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), and various government agencies, including the Department of Business Development (DBD), the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Office of the Board of Investment (BOI), the Office of Industrial Promotion, Central Lab, the Industrial Product Standards Institute (TIS), the National Innovation Agency (NIA), the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), and other related agencies. I am confident that the gift package event for SMEs will facilitate entrepreneurs in conducting business not only in Bangkok but also across different provinces to develop the business of Thailand to grow stronger than before,” Mr. Apichit added.
In addition, at the event, participants will encounter various interesting services and activities, such as financial consultation services, marketing both domestically and internationally, consultation on registration of Made in Thailand (MiT) products, services for the medical device industry, government funding support, business matching activities in collaboration with 7-11, and discussions for entrepreneur development that will present services for SMEs in a CEO talk for SMEs, among others.
