กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ร่วมกับสมาคมอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติกไทยและกรมควบคุมมลพิษ จัดกิจกรรมประกวดผลิตภัณฑ์พลาสติกตามแนวทางเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน “The 5th Thailand Plastics Awards 2024” Embracing the loop : Paving the way for plastic circularity เพื่อยกระดับผู้ประกอบการในอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก และการสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจแก่ประชาชนด้านการบริหารจัดการพลาสติก โดยผู้ที่สนใจ สามารถส่งผลงานได้ตั้งแต่วันนี้ไปจนถึงวันที่ 30 สิงหาคม และประกาศผลรางวัลในวันงานแสดงเครื่องจักรและสินค้าอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก (A-PLAS 2024) ที่จะจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 19 กันยายนนี้ ณ ศูนย์นิทรรศการและการประชุมไบเทค
นายฐิติธัม พงศ์พนางาม ประธานกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) กล่าวว่า ผลิตภัณฑ์พลาสติกและบรรจุภัณฑ์พลาสติก เป็นสิ่งที่ทุกคนใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน จึงปฎิเสธไม่ได้เลยว่าพลาสติกเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตเราและเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นสำหรับการบริโภคและอุปโภค กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย ได้เล็งเห็นความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก โดยคำนึงถึงผลกระทบทางด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง จะเห็นได้จากการมีส่วนร่วมในการร่างแผนการจัดการขยะพลาสติกและอิเล็กทรอนิกส์แห่งชาติทั้งระยะที่ 1 และ 2 โดยใช้หลักเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน คือ “ใช้น้อย ใช้ซ้ำ นำกลับมาใช้ใหม่” และการคำนึงถึงการปล่อยก๊าซคาร์บอนตลอดวงจรชีวิตผลิตภัณฑ์ มาเป็นหลักสำคัญในการบริหารจัดการขยะพลาสติกอย่างยั่งยืน
การออกแบบบรรจุภัณฑ์พลาสติก เพื่อลดปริมาณการใช้พลาสติก และให้ง่ายต่อการรีไซเคิล เป็นหนึ่งในมาตรการตามแผนการจัดการขยะพลาสติกและอิเล็กทรอนิกส์แห่งชาติที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการป้องกันการเกิดขยะ และช่วยในการบริหารจัดการขยะพลาสติก รวมถึงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย จึงได้ร่วมกับสมาคมอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติกไทยและกรมควบคุมมลพิษ จัดงานประกวดผลิตภัณฑ์พลาสติกตามแนวเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน “The 5th Thailand Plastics Awards 2024” Embracing the Loop : Paving the way for plastic circularity ขึ้น โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อยกระดับผู้ประกอบการในอุตสาหกรรมพลาสติก และการสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจแก่ประชาชนด้านการบริหารจัดการพลาสติก และเป็นเวทีส่งเสริมให้ผู้สนใจได้แสดงผลงาน การออกแบบและการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์พลาสติก
การประกวด แบ่งเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์พลาสติก 6 ประเภท ได้แก่
1.บรรจุภัณฑ์สำหรับอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม
2.บรรจุภัณฑ์สำหรับผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ไม่ใช่อาหาร
3.ผลิตภัณฑ์ในครัวเรือน (ทั้งใช้ภายในและภายนอก)
4.ผลิตภัณฑ์ยาและการแพทย์
5.ผลิตภัณฑ์ก่อสร้าง
6.ผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรม
ทั้งนี้ การตัดสินมุ่งเน้นในด้านการใช้หลักเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน (Circular Economy) เป็นหัวข้อหลักในการตัดสินในครั้งนี้

The Plastic Industry Group of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in collaboration with the Thai Plastic Industry Association and the Pollution Control Department, has organized the competition for plastic products in line with circular economy principles, titled 'The 5th Thailand Plastics Awards 2024' Embracing the Loop: Paving the way for plastic circularity. This initiative aims to elevate entrepreneurs in the plastic industry and create awareness among the public regarding plastic management. Interested parties can submit their entries from today until August 30, with the results to be announced at the Plastics Machinery and Industry Products Exhibition (A-PLAS 2024) scheduled for September 19 at the BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center.
Mr. Thititham Phongpanangam, Chairman of the Plastic Industry Group of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), stated that plastic products and packaging are essential items used in daily life, thus it is undeniable that plastic is a vital part of our lives and necessary for consumption and use. The Plastic Industry Group has continuously recognized the importance of developing the plastic industry while considering environmental impacts. This can be seen in their contributions to drafting the National Plastic and Electronic Waste Management Plan, both stages 1 and 2, which adhere to circular economy principles: 'Use Less, Reuse, and Recycle,' as well as considering carbon emissions throughout the product life cycle as a fundamental aspect of sustainable plastic waste management.
Designing plastic packaging to reduce plastic usage and make it easier to recycle is one of the measures under the National Plastic and Electronic Waste Management Plan that is effective in preventing waste generation and aiding in the effective management of plastic waste and natural resources.
Therefore, the Plastic Industry Group of the Federation of Thai Industries has collaborated with the Thai Plastic Industry Association and the Pollution Control Department to organize the plastic product contest in line with circular economy principles, titled 'The 5th Thailand Plastics Awards 2024' Embracing the Loop: Paving the way for plastic circularity. The goal is to elevate entrepreneurs in the plastic industry and create awareness among the public regarding plastic management, serving as a platform for interested individuals to showcase their designs and developments of plastic products.
The competition is divided into 6 categories of plastic products:
1. Packaging for food and beverages
2. Packaging for non-food products
3. Household products (both indoor and outdoor)
4. Pharmaceutical and medical products
5. Construction products
6. Industrial products.
The judging will focus on the principles of Circular Economy as the main criterion for this evaluation.
