วันศุกร์ที่ 14 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ได้ให้การต้อนรับคณะกรรมการจากประเทศสมาชิกของสภาธุรกิจ GMS ที่เดินทางมายังประเทศไทยเพื่อเข้าร่วมการประชุม 1/2025 GMS Business Council Board of Directors’ Meeting และเยี่ยมชมงาน FTI EXPO 2025 ณ ศูนย์ประชุมแห่งชาติสิริกิติ์
ในการประชุมครั้งนี้ นายเกรียงไกรได้มอบหมายให้นายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. ทำหน้าที่เป็นประธานการประชุมแทน ซึ่งในการประชุมนั้น ประเทศสมาชิกได้มีการหารือถึงแผนงานของสภาธุรกิจ GMS สำหรับปี 2568 การนำเสนอโครงการริเริ่มต่างๆ เพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศสมาชิกในอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง การแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ทางเศรษฐกิจในแต่ละประเทศ การพิจารณาแนวทางปรับปรุงการบริหารองค์กร รวมทั้งการหารือเตรียมการจัดเวทีประชุมภาคเอกชน (ฺBusiness Forum) ในโอกาสที่ประเทศไทยจะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมระดับรัฐมนตรี GMS ในปลายปีนี้
การประชุมครั้งนี้ ผู้แทนจากธนาคารพัฒนาเอเชีย (Asian Development Bank: ADB) ได้เข้าร่วมให้ข้อมูลแผนงาน GMS อันสืบเนื่องจากการประชุมระดับผู้นำ ครั้งที่ 8 เมื่อเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2567 และแผนงานเร่งด่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับภาคเอกชนในปี 2568 นี้ด้วยเช่นกัน
On Friday, February 14, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), welcomed the committee members from the member countries of the GMS Business Council, who traveled to Thailand to participate in the 1/2025 GMS Business Council Board of Directors’ Meeting and to visit the FTI EXPO 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
During this meeting, Mr. Kriangkrai delegated the role of chairing the meeting to Mr. Wethit Chokwatana, Vice Chairman of FTI. In the meeting, member countries discussed the plans of the GMS Business Council for the year 2025, presented various initiatives to enhance economic cooperation among member countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion, exchanged information regarding the economic situation in each country, considered ways to improve organizational management, and discussed preparations for organizing a private sector forum on the occasion of Thailand hosting the GMS Ministerial Meeting later this year.
In this meeting, representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) participated to provide information on the GMS agenda following the 8th Leaders’ Meeting held in November 2024, as well as urgent plans related to the private sector for 2025.
