เมื่อวันที่ 12 มีนาคม 2568 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายชาติชาย พานิชชีวะ นางสาวเพชรรัตน์ เอกแสงกุล และคณะกรรมการ ส.อ.ท. ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ H.E. Mr. Elchin Ragub oglu Bashirov เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอาเซอร์ไบจานประจำประเทศไทย เนื่องในโอกาสเข้ารับตำแหน่ง ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ชั้น 8 ส.อ.ท.
ในการหารือ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับแนวทางส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ การค้า และการลงทุน โดยอาเซอร์ไบจานได้เปิดสถานเอกอัครราชทูตประจำประเทศไทยอย่างเป็นทางการในเดือนกันยายน 2567 ซึ่งถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสองประเทศ โดย ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ตั้งเป้าขยายความร่วมมือด้านอุตสาหกรรมอาหาร เกษตร และเทคโนโลยีขั้นสูง โดยเฉพาะการส่งเสริมการค้าสินค้าเกษตรแปรรูปและผลิตภัณฑ์อาหารคุณภาพสูง เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของตลาดทั้งสองประเทศ
อาเซอร์ไบจาน มีความสำคัญในฐานะศูนย์กลางของระบบโลจิสติกส์ ตั้งอยู่ในภูมิภาคคอเคซัส ระหว่างยุโรปตะวันออกและเอเชียตะวันตก มีอาณาเขตติดกับรัสเซีย จอร์เจีย อาร์เมเนีย อิหร่าน และทะเลแคสเปียน ซึ่งที่ตั้งทางยุทธศาสตร์นี้ ทำให้อาเซอร์ไบจานมีบทบาทสำคัญในการเชื่อมโยงการค้าระหว่างยุโรปและเอเชีย
การหารือครั้งนี้ ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยและอาเซอร์ไบจาน ซึ่งทั้งสองฝ่าย มุ่งมั่นในการขยายความร่วมมืออย่างเป็นรูปธรรม เพื่อประโยชน์ร่วมกันในอนาคต
On March 12, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Chatchai Panitcheewa, Ms. Pecharat Eakasangkul, and FTI board members, warmly received H.E. Mr. Elchin Ragub oglu Bashirov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Thailand, on the occasion of his appointment at the Mongkolsuthee Room, 8th Floor, FTI.
During the discussions, both parties exchanged views on strategies to promote economic cooperation, trade, and investment. Azerbaijan officially opened its embassy in Thailand in September 2024, marking a significant step in strengthening relations between the two countries. Both sides aim to expand cooperation in the food industry, agriculture, and advanced technology, particularly in promoting trade of processed agricultural products and high-quality food items to meet the demands of both markets.
Azerbaijan is significant as a logistics hub located in the Caucasus region, bridging Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It shares borders with Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, and the Caspian Sea. This strategic location enables Azerbaijan to play a vital role in connecting trade between Europe and Asia.
This discussion marks an important step in strengthening economic relations between Thailand and Azerbaijan, as both parties are committed to expanding tangible cooperation for mutual benefit in the future.
