ระหว่างวันที่ 24–26 พฤษภาคม 2568 นายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมการประชุมสภาที่ปรึกษาธุรกิจอาเซียน (ASEAN Business Advisory Council: ASEAN-BAC) ครั้งที่ 103 ในฐานะผู้แทนของประเทศไทยร่วมกับผู้แทนจากสมาคมธนาคารไทย และสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย ณ เก็นติ้งไฮแลนด์ และกรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ประเทศมาเลเซีย
การประชุมสภาที่ปรึกษาธุรกิจอาเซียนครั้งนี้ ประเทศมาเลเซีย โดย ตัน สรี นาเซียร์ ราซัค (Tan Sri Nasir Razak) ในฐานะประธานสภาที่ปรึกษาธุรกิจอาเซียน ได้นำการหารือและติดตามความคืบหน้าของโครงการสำคัญต่างๆ ร่วมกันกับประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน โดยมาเลเซียได้ผลักดันโครงการภายใต้ความรับผิดชอบ อาทิเช่น โครงการ ASEAN Business Entity ที่มุ่งเน้นการส่งเสริมการเคลื่อนย้ายเงินทุน การอำนวยความสะดวกในการเคลื่อนย้ายประชากรระหว่างประเทศสมาชิก และการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลเพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาค
ต่อมา ประธานสภาที่ปรึกษาธุรกิจอาเซียน ได้นำเสนอรายงานความก้าวหน้าโครงการต่างๆ ต่อผู้นำประเทศอาเซียนในเวทีการประชุม ASEAN-BAC Leaders Interface ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการประชุมระดับผู้นำอาเซียน (ASEAN Summit) ครั้งที่ 46 ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ซึ่งเป็นการประชุมครั้งสำคัญประจำปีระหว่างผู้นำอาเซียนและสภาที่ปรึกษาธุรกิจอาเซียนในการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลระหว่างภาครัฐและเอกชนในระดับภูมิภาคอาเซียน
นอกจากนี้ การประชุมยังมีกิจกรรมสำคัญ คือ ASEAN-GCC-China CEO Roundtable ซึ่งเป็นเวทีแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองระหว่างผู้นำภาคธุรกิจจากอาเซียน กลุ่มประเทศความร่วมมืออ่าวอาหรับ (GCC) และสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน เกี่ยวกับโอกาสใหม่ในการขยายความร่วมมือด้านการค้า การลงทุน และการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจอย่างยั่งยืนในระดับภูมิภาคและระหว่างภูมิภาค
From May 24 to 26, 2025, Mr. Wethit Chokwatana, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), attended the 103rd ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) meeting as a representative of Thailand, along with representatives from the Thai Bankers' Association and the Thai Chamber of Commerce, held at Genting Highlands and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
During this meeting, Malaysia, represented by Tan Sri Nasir Razak as the Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, led the discussions and monitored the progress of various important projects with ASEAN member countries. Malaysia has promoted projects under its responsibility, such as the ASEAN Business Entity project, which focuses on facilitating the movement of capital, easing the flow of people among member countries, and information exchange to enhance economic cooperation in the region.
Subsequently, the Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council presented a progress report on various projects to ASEAN leaders at the ASEAN-BAC Leaders Interface during the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur. This annual meeting between ASEAN leaders and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council serves as an important platform for exchanging information between the public and private sectors within the ASEAN region.
Additionally, the meeting featured a significant event, the ASEAN-GCC-China CEO Roundtable, which provided a platform for leaders from the business sectors of ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the People's Republic of China to exchange views on new opportunities for expanding trade, investment, and sustainable economic development at both regional and inter-regional levels.
