ส.อ.ท. จับมือ สอวช. หารือแนวทาง Upskill & Reskill แรงงานภาคอุตสาหกรรม ขับเคลื่อนผ่านโครงการ BOI–STEM++FTI Collaborates with NSTDA to Discuss Upskill & Reskill Strategies for Industrial Workforce Driven by BOI–STEM++ Project

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) held a meeting to discuss "Upskill & Reskill for the Industrial Workforce," with Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, President of FTI, welcoming the attendees. The meeting was honored by the presence of Dr. Phonchit Kittipanya-ngarm, Advisor to the Minister of Finance, along with an executive team from the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Office (NSTDA), who joined the FTI executives to exchange ideas and explore collaboration on the development of Thai labor skills in line with the changes in modern industrial technology at Meeting Room 1014, 10th Floor, FTI.

The executives from FTI participating in the discussion included
• Ms. Kanit Muangkrajang, Vice President of FTI and Chair of the FTI Academy
• Dr. Supachai Wangprida-lekkoon, President of the Northern Industrial Council
• Mr. Somboon Pithaya-rangsarit, President of the Machinery and Automation Industry Group
• Mr. Pongsak Saenchai-ngam, FTI Academy Board Member
• Mr. Kanaphon Wongpichayawisarn, FTI Academy Board Member
• Ms. Phanrat Petchphakdee, Director-General of FTI
as well as directors of various institutes under FTI.

This discussion focused on advocating for the development and elevation of labor skills (Upskill & Reskill) in the Thai industrial sector to meet the demands of entrepreneurs, as well as supporting FTI members in accessing high-skilled personnel development projects in target industries under the National Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (BOI–STEM++).

This project is implemented under the cooperation of the Board of Investment (BOI), the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Office (NSTDA)
to support the private sector's participation in developing a high-competence workforce, linking the needs of the industrial sector with educational institutions and training units, allowing entrepreneurs to receive support for training expenses of up to 100%.

The project covers significant target industries in the country, such as
• Electric Vehicles (EV)
• Digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Semiconductors and Advanced Electronics
• Automation and Robotics
• BCG Industries (Smart Agriculture, Food Science, and Biotechnology)
• Comprehensive Medical Care and Biofuel Industry

The development format is flexible, including short courses, boot camps, internships, or specialized training, to enable the Thai workforce to enhance their skills in both breadth and depth to support future industries and drive the country's digital economy.
