ระหว่างวันที่ 26-31 ตุลาคม 2568 นายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เป็นผู้แทนเข้าร่วมการประชุม APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) ครั้งที่ 4/2025 และการประชุม APEC CEO Summit 2025 ณ ประเทศสาธารณรัฐเกาหลี
ในการประชุม ABAC ได้มีข้อเสนอให้ผู้นำเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค (APEC Leaders) สนับสนุนการเปิดเสรีทางการค้า และผลักดันการปฏิรูปองค์การการค้าโลก (WTO) โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการฟื้นฟูกลไกระงับข้อพิพาทให้กลับมาทำงานได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพอีกครั้ง เพื่อเสริมสร้างความเชื่อมั่นในระบบการค้าพหุภาคีของโลก โดยมี ประเด็นสำคัญสำหรับปี 2025 ได้แก่ การผลักดันเขตการค้าเสรีเอเชีย–แปซิฟิก (FTAAP) เพื่อเสริมสร้างการเชื่อมโยงทางเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาคให้ลึกซึ้งยิ่งขึ้น การปรับปรุงกฎระเบียบทางการค้าให้สอดคล้องกับเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลและการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน การพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานและความยืดหยุ่นทางเศรษฐกิจ เพื่อเสริมสร้างการเชื่อมต่อและความมั่นคงของห่วงโซ่อุปทาน การส่งเสริม การเข้าถึงเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลอย่างเท่าเทียม เพื่อให้ทุกภาคส่วนสามารถใช้ประโยชน์จากนวัตกรรมได้อย่างทั่วถึง การยกระดับ ระบบสาธารณสุข เพื่อสนับสนุนสังคมที่มีสุขภาพดีและมีผลิตภาพมากขึ้น และการรับมือกับความท้าทายด้านโครงสร้างประชากร ผ่านการพัฒนาทักษะแรงงานและการเติบโตอย่างครอบคลุม
ทั้งนี้ ในการประชุม APEC CEO Summit 2025 นายอนุทิน ชาญวีรกูล นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้กล่าวปาฐกถาในหัวข้อเศรษฐกิจไทยในเวทีโลกและอนาคตของการเชื่อมโยงในภูมิภาค โดยเน้นว่าไทยตั้งเป้าใช้เวที APEC เป็นพื้นที่สร้างความเชื่อมั่นทางเศรษฐกิจและแสดงบทบาทนำในภูมิภาคเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก พร้อมทั้งได้ย้ำถึงบทบาทของประเทศไทยในฐานะ Regional Connector ที่สำคัญ ทั้งในด้านห่วงโซ่อุปทาน การลงทุน การท่องเที่ยว และเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัล รัฐบาลมุ่งพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจให้เติบโตอย่างครอบคลุม (Inclusive Growth) โดยไม่ทิ้งใครไว้ข้างหลัง พร้อมผลักดันแนวทาง Green Economy และ Digital Economy เพื่อดึงดูดนักลงทุนต่างชาติ โดยนายกรัฐมนตรีได้แสดงเจตนารมณ์ในการสนับสนุนระบบการค้าพหุภาคี (Multilateral Trading System) และองค์การการค้าโลก (WTO) เพื่อเสริมสร้างเสถียรภาพของระบบการค้าโลก พร้อมทั้งกล่าวถึงการนำเทคโนโลยีปัญญาประดิษฐ์ (AI) และนวัตกรรมมาใช้ในการยกระดับศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศไทยในระยะยาว
ทั้งนี้ นายกรัฐมนตรีได้ฝากข้อความสำคัญว่า ประเทศไทยพร้อมทำหน้าที่เป็นสะพานเชื่อมระหว่างโลกตะวันตกและเอเชีย ผ่านความร่วมมือภายใต้กรอบเอเปก (APEC) เพื่อร่วมกันสร้างอนาคตทางเศรษฐกิจที่ยั่งยืนและครอบคลุมสำหรับทุกประเทศในภูมิภาค
Between October 26-31, 2025, Mr. Vethi Chokwatana, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), represented Thailand at the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Meeting 4/2025 and the APEC CEO Summit 2025 in the Republic of Korea.
During the ABAC meeting, proposals were put forth for APEC Leaders to support trade liberalization and advocate for the reform of the World Trade Organization (WTO), particularly the restoration of the dispute resolution mechanism to function effectively once again, thereby bolstering confidence in the global multilateral trading system. Key issues for 2025 include the promotion of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area (FTAAP) to deepen economic connectivity in the region, the alignment of trade regulations with the digital economy and sustainable development, the development of infrastructure and economic resilience to enhance connectivity and supply chain security, the promotion of equitable access to digital technology to ensure all sectors can fully leverage innovations, the enhancement of public health systems to support a healthy and productive society, and addressing demographic challenges through workforce skill development and inclusive growth.
At the APEC CEO Summit 2025, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul delivered a keynote address on the Thai economy on the global stage and the future of regional connectivity, emphasizing that Thailand aims to utilize the APEC platform to build economic confidence and showcase its leadership role in the Asia-Pacific region. He reiterated Thailand's role as a significant Regional Connector in supply chains, investment, tourism, and digital technology. The government is focused on promoting inclusive growth, ensuring that no one is left behind, while advancing the Green Economy and Digital Economy to attract foreign investors. The Prime Minister also expressed his commitment to support the Multilateral Trading System and the WTO to enhance the stability of the global trading system, while discussing the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) and innovations to elevate Thailand's economic potential in the long term.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister conveyed a crucial message that Thailand is ready to act as a bridge between the Western world and Asia through cooperation under the APEC framework to collaboratively create a sustainable and inclusive economic future for all countries in the region.
