ระหว่างวันที่ 12–13 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นายชาติชาย พานิชชีวะ รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ร่วมกับคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) เข้าร่วมการประชุมสามัญประจำปี Business at OECD (BIAC) General Assembly 2026 ณ สำนักงาน องค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือและการพัฒนาทางเศรษฐกิจ (OECD) กรุงปารีส สาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศส
การประชุม Business at OECD (BIAC) General Assembly นับเป็นเวทีสำคัญที่ภาคธุรกิจจากประเทศสมาชิก OECD ประเทศที่อยู่ระหว่างกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก และประเทศกำลังพัฒนาที่มีศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจ ใช้ในการหารือประเด็นสำคัญและจัดทำข้อเสนอเชิงนโยบายเสนอต่อ OECD ครอบคลุมมิติด้านเศรษฐกิจ การค้า การลงทุน และการยกระดับขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน ทั้งนี้ BIAC ทำหน้าที่เป็นกลไกหลักในการสะท้อนมุมมองของภาคเอกชนเข้าสู่กระบวนการกำหนดนโยบายของ OECD อย่างเป็นระบบ
ในการประชุมครั้งนี้ คณะผู้แทนภาคเอกชนไทยเข้าร่วมในฐานะผู้สังเกตการณ์ (Observer) เพื่อติดตามทิศทางการดำเนินงานและพัฒนาการเชิงนโยบายของ OECD อย่างใกล้ชิด พร้อมรับฟังข้อเสนอและมุมมองจากเครือข่ายธุรกิจของประเทศสมาชิก ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการเตรียมความพร้อมของภาคเอกชนไทยในการปรับตัวและยกระดับมาตรฐานให้สอดคล้องกับกรอบสากล
ในโอกาสเดียวกัน คณะผู้แทน ส.อ.ท. ได้หารือกับนายนิกรเดช พลางกูร เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงปารีส เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการขับเคลื่อนนโยบายการทูตเศรษฐกิจ และแนวทางเสริมสร้างบทบาทของภาคเอกชนไทยในกรอบ BIAC ซึ่งเป็นเครือข่ายเชื่อมโยงภาคธุรกิจของประเทศสมาชิก OECD และประเทศที่มีศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจ โดยภาคเอกชนไทยได้ยืนยันความพร้อมในการสนับสนุนกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของประเทศไทยอย่างเต็มที่
ปัจจุบันประเทศไทยอยู่ระหว่างกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD และกำลังก้าวเข้าสู่ขั้นตอนการประเมินทางเทคนิคร่วมกับ OECD ซึ่งจะพิจารณาความสอดคล้องของกฎหมาย นโยบาย และแนวปฏิบัติของประเทศกับมาตรฐานของ OECD โดยมีเป้าหมายผลักดันให้ประเทศไทยสามารถเข้าเป็นสมาชิกได้ภายในปี 2573 เพื่อยกระดับโครงสร้างเศรษฐกิจไทยสู่มาตรฐานสากลอย่างยั่งยืน
On February 12–13, 2026, Mr. Chatchai Panitchchiva, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), together with the Joint Business Council of three institutions (JBCC), participated in the annual Business at OECD (BIAC) General Assembly 2026 held at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France.
The Business at OECD (BIAC) General Assembly serves as an important forum for business representatives from OECD member countries, countries in the process of accession, and developing countries with economic potential to discuss significant issues and formulate policy recommendations to the OECD, covering aspects related to the economy, trade, investment, and enhancing competitiveness. BIAC functions as the primary mechanism for reflecting private sector views into the OECD's policy-making process systematically.
In this meeting, the Thai private sector delegation participated as observers to closely monitor the operational direction and policy developments of the OECD, while listening to proposals and perspectives from the business networks of member countries, which will be beneficial for preparing the Thai private sector to adapt and upgrade standards in accordance with international frameworks.
On the same occasion, the FTI delegation discussed with Mr. Nikorn Deja, Ambassador to France, to exchange views on advancing economic diplomacy policies and enhancing the role of the Thai private sector within the framework of BIAC, which connects the business sectors of OECD member countries and countries with economic potential, affirming the readiness of the Thai private sector to fully support Thailand’s accession to the OECD.
Currently, Thailand is in the process of joining the OECD and has entered the stage of technical evaluation in collaboration with the OECD, which will assess the alignment of the country’s laws, policies, and practices with OECD standards, with the goal of allowing Thailand to become a member by 2030 in order to elevate the Thai economic structure to sustainable international standards.
