ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วมการประชุมวางแผนยุทธศาสตร์ IMT-GT ครั้งที่ 19FTI Participates in the 19th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting

From February 24 to 26, 2026, the National Economic and Social Development Council hosted the 19th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting at Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai, Bangkok.

This meeting is held under the framework of the trilateral economic cooperation program between Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand (IMT-GT) to discuss ways to expedite the implementation work in the final year of the five-year action plan (2022–2026). Government agencies, the private sector (IMT-GT Joint Business Council), and the education sector (UNINET) play vital roles in advancing the plan. The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) is one private sector agency participating in this meeting, contributing to key activities including

(1) A workshop to develop a new five-year action plan (Implementation Blueprint: IB) (2027–2031)
with representatives from FTI participating as follows:
1. Dr. Suwanit Boonyasuwat, Vice Chairman of the BCG Model Working Group for Industrial Promotion and Support, participated in the environmental working group.
2. Mr. Kitti Sukhumtamthan, Executive Committee Member of the Human Resource Capacity Building Institute, participated in the human resource development working group.
3. Mr. Chakrit Rangsimanop, Executive Committee Member of the Southern ASEAN Business Promotion Working Group, participated in the halal working group.

(2) IMT-GT Business Council Meeting
The meeting reported the progress of the projects as follows:
• The IMT-GT Business Council of Indonesia reported on the progress of the Integrated Waste Management project and presented details of the IMT-GT Business Forum & Matching 2026, scheduled to be held on September 9, 2026, in Medan, Republic of Indonesia, and invited the IMT-GT Business Council to participate in this event.
• The IMT-GT Business Council of Malaysia reported on the progress of the following projects:
1. IMT-GT & BIMP-EAGA Green City Action Plan (GCAP)
2. IMT-GT Regional Business Excellence Awards 2026
3. IMT-GT Plaza Bukit Bunga
4. The Langkawi–Kuala Perlis–Satun (Thailand) bridge project.
• The IMT-GT Business Council of Thailand reported on the progress of the following projects:
1. IMT-GT Connect
2. IMT-GT Tourism Connect
3. IMT-GT Smart Rubber Innovators Platform for Talents
4. IMT-GT Link

(3) Business Networking Session (organized by the IMT-GT Business Council)
with the objective of promoting trade and investment networks and enhancing the role of the private sector in driving economic cooperation among operators within the IMT-GT framework. Representatives from FTI participated, including:
1. Ms. Pechrat Aeksangkun, Vice Chairman of FTI and Vice Chair of the Thai-Indonesian Business Council.
2. Mr. Charoen Kaewsukais, Chairman of the Food and Beverage Industry Group and Vice Chair of the Thai-Malaysia Business Council.

This meeting aims to promote trade and investment networks, enhance the role of the private sector in driving economic cooperation, and connect operators in the IMT-GT cooperative area to achieve tangible results, reflecting FTI's proactive role in supporting the IMT-GT cooperation strategy in halal, environmental issues, human resources, logistics, and regional economic integration. This is to enhance the competitiveness of the Thai industrial sector at the sub-regional and international levels.
