On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Global Standards Organization of the Federation of Thai Industries, or GS1 Thailand, launched the “GS1TH Smart Catalog,” a digital platform serving as a central hub for product information registered for barcode use according to GS1 international standards. This initiative aims to elevate product data management, enhance transparency, and build confidence among consumers and Thai businesses.

Dr. Komson Laesilpacharoen, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries and President of the Global Standards Organization, revealed that “in 2026, the Global Standards Organization has implemented a plan to upgrade Thailand's product data standards to align with international benchmarks. The GS1TH Smart Catalog has been developed as the country’s central product information platform, supporting the scanning of all forms of GS1 international barcodes. The product information displayed in the system is directly recorded by producers, entrepreneurs, or product owners, allowing consumers to access accurate, reliable information and verify sources.

Meanwhile, entrepreneurs can systematically manage product information, enhance brand image and credibility, improve communication efficiency with customers, and elevate business operations in line with international standards. This service is available to the public at no cost starting from today.

Mr. Pisit Rangsurithiwutkul, Director of the Global Standards Organization, further stated that “GS1TH Smart Catalog serves as an essential tool in enhancing the standards of Thai product data to conform with global practices, supporting both businesses and consumers broadly. The system is designed for easy, quick, and accessible use to promote the adoption of standard data in everyday life.

Users can start by adding the Official Line Account: @gs1thailand, then selecting the Rich Menu (GS1TH Smart Catalog) to access the product information search system. The system supports various access methods, including directly entering barcode numbers, using mobile phone cameras to scan 1D and 2D barcodes, and uploading barcode images for the system to process and automatically display product information, covering item numbers according to the GS1 international standard usable worldwide.
