FTI is advancing its role as a private sector partner to drive Thai SMEs towards sustainability by connecting knowledge, tools, and opportunities from the “Thailand SD SME Awards 2026” project to its members and entrepreneurs within the industrial network. This aims to promote adaptation to ESG guidelines, enhance business capabilities, and prepare for long-term global trade regulations.

On August 21, 2026, Mr. Sarawut Songwunphao, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and Vice Chairman of the Small and Medium Industry Institute, officially launched the “Thailand SD SME Awards 2026” project, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank) in collaboration with the Carbon Sustainability Institute (CBiS), Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, and over 15 public and private sector partners. FTI is one of the private sector partners aimed at supporting and driving Thai SME entrepreneurs to adapt and elevate their businesses towards sustainable growth at the Kaew Wichian Room, 11th Floor, SME D Bank Tower, Head Office.

This project provides opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop their ESG capabilities in greenhouse gas management and carbon footprint, while gaining access to knowledge, tools, and consultancy from experts, as well as connection to supply chains and partner networks. Additionally, it includes opportunities to access green business loans at special interest rates from SME D Bank, which will benefit SME operators in the FTI network in elevating their businesses, enhancing competitiveness, and preparing for new global trade regulations.

As a private sector partner, FTI plays a crucial role in supporting and connecting opportunities from the project to entrepreneurs and members within the industrial network, enabling SMEs to access knowledge, tools, and opportunities for sustainable business development while enhancing their competitive capabilities and preparing for global trade regulations.

The awards are categorized into four key areas:

1. Efficiency Leader – excelling in energy efficiency and resource sustainability.
2. Green Pioneer – excelling in conducting business along green lines and creating positive environmental impacts through green products, services, and innovations that meet future trends.
3. Adaptive Champion – excelling in adaptability to disasters, crises, and unforeseen events.
4. Impact Maker – excelling in creating social value, growing alongside communities and the environment by creating local jobs, sharing opportunities, and living harmoniously with communities.

SME operators interested in participating can apply for the “Thailand SD SME Awards 2026” project free of charge, accepting applications from August 21 to September 21, 2026, selecting 300 businesses for development before choosing 16 finalists and identifying four model entrepreneurs in sustainability to receive the “Thailand SD SME Awards 2026” in early 2027.
