ร่วมเสวนางาน Bangkok Post Economic Forum 2026: Global Shockwaves: Thailand's Survival Blueprint ณ ห้อง World Ballroom ชั้น 23 โรงแรมเซ็นทารา แกรนด์ แอท เซ็นทรัลเวิลด์
ภายใต้วิสัยทัศน์ “The New Chapter of Thai Industry: Empowering Growth with the 5-I Strategy” สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทยได้เน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการเร่งยกระดับและปรับโครงสร้างภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทย เพื่อเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศในระยะยาว
• I1 – Intelligent Industry
• I2 – Innovation and Creative Industry
• I3 – International Alliance and Network
• I4 – Industrial Infrastructure Reform
• I5 – Inclusive and Sustainable Growth
On May 27, 2026, Ms. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated in a panel discussion at the Bangkok Post Economic Forum 2026: Global Shockwaves: Thailand's Survival Blueprint held at the World Ballroom, 23rd floor of the Centara Grand at CentralWorld hotel.
The key issue highlighted by Ms. Pimjai during this discussion was Thailand's ability to maintain its position as a “Neutrality” amidst increasing geopolitical uncertainties and global economic challenges. This neutrality is considered a strategic advantage that can enhance Thailand's role as a Resilient Manufacturing Base and a reliable Global Supply Chain Hub.
Under the vision “The New Chapter of Thai Industry: Empowering Growth with the 5-I Strategy,” the Federation of Thai Industries emphasized the importance of accelerating the upgrading and restructuring of the Thai industrial sector to enhance the country's long-term competitiveness.
The 5-I Strategy consists of:
• I1 – Intelligent Industry
Driving intelligent industries through automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital transformation to improve efficiency and competitive capabilities.
• I2 – Innovation and Creative Industry
Promoting innovation industries, research and development (R&D), as well as the creative economy to add value to Thai goods and services.
• I3 – International Alliance and Network
Strengthening international cooperation, trade networks, and industrial partnerships to enhance Thailand's connectivity with the global economy.
• I4 – Industrial Infrastructure Reform
Reforming critical infrastructure to support the industries of the future, particularly in energy, logistics, digital systems, and industrial utilities.
• I5 – Inclusive and Sustainable Growth
Fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth while considering environmental factors, social participation from all sectors, and good governance.
Among these, the most emphasized issue was I4 – Industrial Infrastructure Reform, particularly concerning “energy,” which is a crucial factor for the country's competitiveness. Recommendations were made for Thailand to expedite the development of a new Power Development Plan (PDP) to ensure energy security, reduce electricity costs, build investor confidence, and support the growth of future industries, as well as Thailand's long-term goals for transitioning to a green economy.
