As the health of workers has a direct impact on organizational efficiency, creating a “Well-Being Organization” is not only a matter of welfare but an essential factor in developing people and enhancing the capabilities of the industry. Thus, FTI is preparing to expand the Happy Workplace model from pilot establishments to a network of members nationwide.
Previously, the collaboration between the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), the Health Promotion Foundation (สสส.), and the Thai Electrical and Electronics Industry Association (สฟอท.) has successfully developed 50 pilot well-being establishments in 13 provinces, created 100 health leaders, and recognized 65 exemplary health individuals, benefiting over 1,500 employees, with tangible outcomes in health behavior.
Data from the project indicates a reduction in smoking and alcohol consumption by 8%, an improvement in mental health by 14%, an increase in physical activity by 12%, and healthier eating behaviors by 10%. Additionally, medical treatment and sick leave have decreased by 10%, reflecting that investment in the well-being of workers can generate tangible results at both the individual and organizational levels.
On August 18, 2026, FTI, together with the Health Promotion Foundation and the Thai Electrical and Electronics Industry Association, organized a knowledge exchange event and presented commendations to exemplary well-being organizations and individuals under the theme “Happy Workplace” at the Grand Richmond Hotel in Nonthaburi province.
[From Pilot to Network Expansion]
Mr. Thaworn Cholatthian, Vice President of FTI, stated that the industrial sector has approximately 20 million working-age individuals who face risks from work, environmental conditions, and stress. Therefore, the establishment of well-being organizations must be a continuous process. FTI aims to exchange knowledge and experiences from pilot establishments to expand appropriately to the context of each organization.
The next goal is to leverage the model, knowledge, and experiences from 50 pilot establishments to benefit FTI members totaling over 16,000 companies, ensuring that the establishment of well-being is not limited to pilot organizations but can be expanded as practical guidelines for entrepreneurs across the country.
Furthermore, FTI also plans to utilize the FTI Academy Platform as another channel to disseminate health knowledge and create well-being organizations, allowing members to access content and learn 24 hours a day, facilitating broad and continuous knowledge transfer from the pilots to the network.
Thus, the goal is not merely to create “happy organizations” but to build healthy individuals, efficient organizations, and a resilient industrial sector in the long term, using FTI’s network as a mechanism to integrate well-being into sustainable organizational development.
