วันอังคารที่ 23 กรกฎาคม 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ร่วมพิธีลงนามบันทึกความเข้าใจ (MOU) ว่าด้วยความร่วมมือในการพัฒนาระบบนิเวศสตาร์ทอัพ (Startup Ecosystem) ระหว่างมอนต์โกเมอรี เคาน์ตี รัฐแมริแลนด์ สหรัฐอเมริกา สำนักงานนวัตกรรมแห่งชาติ (NIA) และสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) โดยมีนายธนารักษ์ พงษ์เภตรา รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. นายอภิชิต ประสพรัตน์ รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. และผู้แทนจากทั้งสามฝ่ายเข้าร่วมด้วย ณ ศูนย์การประชุมแห่งชาติสิริกิติ์
ในพิธีลงนามครั้งนี้ ดร. กริชผกา บุญเฟื่อง ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานนวัตกรรมแห่งชาติ และจูดี้ คอสเทลโล ผู้จัดการโครงการพิเศษ มอนต์โกเมอรี เคาน์ตี รัฐแมริแลนด์ ได้กล่าวถึงความสำคัญของความร่วมมือครั้งนี้ว่า เป็นก้าวสำคัญในการสร้างระบบนิเวศสำหรับสตาร์ทอัพที่แข็งแกร่งและส่งเสริมนวัตกรรม ซึ่งจะเปิดโอกาสใหม่ๆ ให้กับธุรกิจไทยในการขยายตัวเข้าสู่ตลาดสหรัฐอเมริกา
ด้านนายเกรียงไกร กล่าวว่า การลงนาม MOU ครั้งนี้ มีเป้าหมายเพื่อส่งเสริมการเติบโตของวิสาหกิจนวัตกรรมและสตาร์ทอัพ ผ่านการแลกเปลี่ยนทรัพยากรและการสนับสนุนซึ่งกันและกัน โดยข้อตกลงนี้ไม่เพียงแต่เสริมสร้างความแข็งแกร่งให้กับอุตสาหกรรมในประเทศเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างภูมิภาคที่แน่นแฟ้นอีกด้วย
นอกจากนี้ นายเกรียงไกร ยังได้กล่าวขอบคุณทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องสำหรับความมุ่งมั่นและวิสัยทัศน์อันแน่วแน่ที่ทำให้ความร่วมมือนี้เป็นจริงขึ้น โดยเชื่อมั่นว่า ความร่วมมือดังกล่าว จะสามารถสร้างอนาคตที่แข็งแกร่ง ยืดหยุ่น และมั่งคั่งสำหรับธุรกิจและสังคม และมีนวัตกรรมที่เชื่อมโยงกันมากขึ้น
ภายหลังจากพิธีลงนาม นายเกรียงไกร ยังได้มีโอกาสเยี่ยมชมบูธต่างๆ ใน Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo 2024 (SITE 2024) ภายใต้งานมหกรรมส่งเสริมการใช้ประโยชน์ อววน. เพื่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจไทยอย่างยั่งยืนด้วยพลังสหวิทยาการ หรือ อว.แฟร์ (SCI POWER FOR FUTURE THAILAND) โดย SITE 2024 เป็นงานแสดงสินค้าด้านนวัตกรรมและเทคโนโลยีที่จัดขึ้น เพื่อสนับสนุนและส่งเสริมการเติบโตของสตาร์ทอัพและวิสาหกิจนวัตกรรมในประเทศไทย ภายใต้ความร่วมมือขององค์กรต่างๆ ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ โดยภายในงาน มีบูธจากองค์กรต่างๆ ทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชน รวมถึงบูธของ ส.อ.ท. ที่ยกทัพเหล่าสตาร์ทอัพ มาร่วมแสดงผลงานและเทคโนโลยีที่เป็นนวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ รวมถึงการเปิดตัวผลิตภัณฑ์และบริการที่น่าสนใจ ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสที่ดีสำหรับผู้ประกอบการไทยในการพบปะและเชื่อมโยงกับพันธมิตรทางธุรกิจจากทั่วโลก โดยการออกบูธครั้งนี้ ส.อ.ท. ได้เชิญผู้ประกอบการ มาร่วมออกบูธ ได้แก่

งานนี้ ถือได้ว่าเป็นเวทีที่รวบรวมนักลงทุน ผู้ประกอบการ นักวิจัย นักพัฒนาเทคโนโลยี และผู้สนใจด้านนวัตกรรมเข้าไว้ด้วยกัน เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ ประสบการณ์ และสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางธุรกิจ โดยมีการจัดแสดงสินค้านวัตกรรม การประชุมและสัมมนาเชิงวิชาการ เวิร์คช็อป และกิจกรรมอื่นๆ มากมาย

On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated in a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) concerning cooperation in the development of the startup ecosystem between Montgomery County, Maryland, USA, the National Innovation Agency (NIA), and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Thanarak Pongpetraka, Vice Chairman of FTI, Mr. Apichit Prasoprat, Vice Chairman of FTI, and representatives from all three parties at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Kritsaka Boonfueng, Director of the National Innovation Agency, and Judy Costello, Project Manager for Montgomery County, Maryland, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating that it is a significant step towards building a robust ecosystem for startups and promoting innovation, which will create new opportunities for Thai businesses to expand into the U.S. market.
Mr. Kriangkrai noted that the purpose of signing this MOU is to promote the growth of innovative enterprises and startups through resource exchange and mutual support. This agreement not only strengthens the domestic industry but also enhances economic relations between the regions.
Additionally, Mr. Kriangkrai expressed gratitude to all parties involved for their commitment and steadfast vision that made this collaboration a reality, believing that this partnership will lead to a strong, resilient, and prosperous future for both businesses and society, with more interconnected innovation.
Following the signing ceremony, Mr. Kriangkrai had the opportunity to visit various booths at the Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo 2024 (SITE 2024), part of the SCI POWER FOR FUTURE THAILAND event aimed at promoting sustainable economic development in Thailand through interdisciplinary power. SITE 2024 is an innovation and technology exhibition designed to support and promote the growth of startups and innovative enterprises in Thailand, under the cooperation of various organizations both domestically and internationally. The event features booths from various organizations in both the public and private sectors, including FTI's booth showcasing a range of startups that display new innovative technologies, as well as launching interesting products and services. This serves as a great opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs to meet and connect with business partners from around the world, including booths from companies such as:
