On June 25, 2026, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) in collaboration with Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU) held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote cooperation in workforce development, education, research, and innovation, as well as to enhance the competitiveness of the country at the Music and Performing Arts Hall, Asoke Montree Building, 4th Floor: Professor Dr. Saroch Buasri, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Cholawit Jearajit, President of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, and Mrs. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, Chairperson of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), who jointly signed the MOU. A group of executives, faculty members, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the industry also witnessed the event.

Mrs. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, Chairperson of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), stated that the cooperation between the industrial sector and the educational sector is a key mechanism for the country's development, aligning with the 5I Strategy of the Federation of Thai Industries, particularly I2 concerning Innovation & Creative Industry, aimed at promoting value-added creation through innovation, creativity, and intellectual property to elevate Thai entrepreneurs and create new economic opportunities for the country.

Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Cholawit Jearajit, President of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, expressed that the university places great importance on developing human resources, knowledge, and innovations that respond to the needs of the country. He believes that educational development in the current era requires close collaboration between educational institutions and the industry to jointly develop curricula, research, and experiential learning that can be effectively utilized.

In terms of the main points of cooperation, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) will act as a link to connect the industrial network and entrepreneurs, support the transfer of knowledge, workforce demands, and industry development trends, as well as promote the participation of the business sector in developing curricula, internships, co-operative education, and joint innovation projects with educational institutions.

Conversely, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU) will leverage its educational, research, and academic service capabilities to co-develop curricula, research efforts, and innovations that address industry needs, providing students with opportunities to learn and develop experiential learning skills through internships and co-operative education, which will lead to enhancing the competitiveness of Thailand's creative industries on an international level.

Assistant Professor Dr. Khajiporn Wongpredee, Dean of the Creative Industry College, stated that this cooperation arises from a shared intent to develop workforce potential through Upskilling and Reskilling processes, creating knowledge bases, data, and research outputs, particularly in the creative industry, jewelry, and accessories, as well as promoting learning, skill development, knowledge exchange, and building cooperative networks between the educational sector and the industry.

Dr. Niwat Thammachak, Director of the Future Industry Technology and Innovation Management Office (FTI), mentioned that the first project under this collaboration is the “Skill Enhancement Project for Workers in the Thai Jewelry and Accessories Industry to Improve International Competitiveness,” under the concept framework of “Jewelry BLAST,” which aims to develop workforce potential across the value chain of the industry, from developing advanced jewelry materials and sustainable production processes to creative design using digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to brand and strategic marketing development, elevating Thai entrepreneurs to compete internationally.

Under this project, the Federation of Thai Industries will connect the network of entrepreneurs and the industry to jointly determine the demands for skills and competencies, as well as support the application of knowledge in real work settings. Meanwhile, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, specifically the Creative Industry College, will be responsible for developing curricula, transferring knowledge, conducting research, and creating innovations in collaboration with the industry to enhance labor productivity, innovation capability, and product quality of Thai entrepreneurs.

This cooperation marks an important step in linking knowledge from the educational sector with the demands of the industry to jointly create quality personnel, develop innovations, and enhance the country's competitiveness towards an economy driven by knowledge, creativity, and sustainable innovation.
