คนไทยจะได้รับประโยชน์อะไร
ABAC ในฐานะผู้แทนของภาคเอกชนทั้งที่เป็นผู้ประกอบการ แรงงานและคนรุ่นใหม่นั้น คำนึงถึงประโยชน์ของประชาชนส่วนรวมเป็นหลักเสมอในการเสนอข้อเสนอแนะแก่ผู้นำเอเปคทุกครั้ง ตัวอย่างที่ผลประโยชน์คนไทยจะได้รับ ได้แก่ โอกาสในการอำนวยความสะดวกทางการค้า การลงทุน และการรวมกลุ่มของเศรษฐกิจที่มีขนาดตลาดใหญ่ขึ้น และมีความสะดวกและรวดเร็วมากขึ้น โดยเฉพาะสำหรับกลุ่มธุรกิจ MSMEs จะได้รับการรองรับโอกาสของการลงทุนจากต่างประเทศที่จะมากระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจ ถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยี ยกระดับทักษะแรงงานในพื้นที่ต่อไป และด้านความยั่งยืน ประเด็นเรื่องการซื้อขายแลกเปลี่ยนคาร์บอนเครดิต และ Future Food อาหารแห่งอนาคต ก็อาจเป็นแหล่งรายได้ใหม่ของประชาชน
ผลลัพธ์ของการประชุมเอเปค จะช่วยฟื้นฟูและกระตุ้นการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจของไทยภายหลังโควิด-19 ในด้านต่างๆ โดยเฉพาะภาคธุรกิจบริการที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการท่องเที่ยวและการค้าดิจิทัล ซึ่งจะทำให้เกิดการกระจายรายได้และลดความเหลื่อมล้ำ อันก่อให้เกิดการพัฒนาที่ครอบคลุมและยั่งยืนตามเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน
การประชุม ABAC/APEC ในครั้งนี้นับเป็นโอกาสอันดี ในการแสดงศักยภาพของภาคธุรกิจไทยสู่เวทีโลก ด้วยประเทศไทยเป็นประเทศที่มีเศรษฐกิจใหญ่เป็นอันดับ 2 ของเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ มีมูลค่าผลิตภัณฑ์มวลรวมภายในประเทศ (GDP) ประมาณ 5 แสนล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ (เทียบเท่าราว 19 ล้านล้านบาท) โดยที่ภาคเอกชนเป็นกลไกหลักในการเติบโตไม่ว่าจะเป็นการส่งออกกว่า 70% ของ GDP การมีภาคอุตสาหกรรมที่แข็งแกร่งราว 40% ของ GDP และภาคบริการราว 50% ของ GDP โดยจุดแข็งของไทย คือ อุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวและบริการทางการเงิน และด้านอาหาร ที่ประเทศไทยมีจุดเด่นด้านความมั่นคงของอาหารในเวทีโลกอีกด้วย
คนไทยจะมีส่วนร่วมอย่างไรได้บ้าง
ผู้ประกอบการและประชาชนทั่วไปจะเป็นกุญแจดอกสำคัญในการดำเนินเศรษฐกิจของเอเปคและทำให้ภูมิภาคนี้มีความก้าวหน้าและความยั่งยืนไปด้วยกัน โดยการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้ประกอบการนั้น คือ การปรับตัวและคว้าโอกาสกับข้อเสนอของ ABAC ที่ต้องการให้เขตเศรษฐกิจทั้ง 21 รวมทั้งไทย มีขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันทางการค้าที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น และมีการพัฒนาระบบเพื่อการอำนวยความสะดวกทางการค้า การลดและยกเลิกปัญหาอุปสรรคทางการค้า รวมทั้งการพลิกวิกฤตเป็นโอกาสในการเปลี่ยนผ่านไปสู่โลกยุคหลังโควิดที่ยั่งยืนและสมดุล และทุกคนมีส่วนร่วมผ่านแนวคิด BCG ที่ไทยได้ผลักดันมาตลอดในการเป็นเจ้าภาพ ABAC/APEC
ผู้ประกอบการ MSMEs ซึ่งมีความสำคัญกับการขับเคลื่อนระบบเศรษฐกิจของทุกเขตเศรษฐกิจ จะต้องถูกพัฒนาเพื่อสร้างความเจริญ ขณะเดียวกันต้องมีความยั่งยืน และที่สำคัญ คือ ต้องสามารถพึ่งพาตัวเองได้ ซึ่ง BCG Model สามารถช่วยส่งเสริมในประเด็นนี้ได้ โดยการใช้ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ การคิดนอกกรอบ การใช้ประโยชน์จากเทคโนโลยี การวิจัย พัฒนา การสร้างนวัตกรรมเพื่อการดำเนินธุรกิจ ซึ่งเป็นหัวใจสำคัญของการพัฒนาภายใต้ BCG Model และยังเป็นโอกาสที่จะช่วยสร้างธุรกิจใหม่ๆ โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มสตาร์ทอัพ (Startup) รวมถึงการให้บริษัทขนาดใหญ่ เป็นต้นแบบให้กับ MSMEs ซึ่งนับเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการพัฒนาเข้าสู่ห่วงโซ่อุปทานของบริษัทรายใหญ่ และจะนำไปสู่ห่วงโซ่อุปทานโลกได้ในอนาคต
What benefits will Thailand gain?
ABAC, as a representative of the private sector comprising entrepreneurs, labor, and the new generation, consistently prioritizes the general public's benefits in its recommendations to APEC leaders. Examples of benefits that the people of Thailand will gain include opportunities for trade facilitation, investment, and the integration of an expanding market economy, which will be more convenient and rapid. Particularly for MSME businesses, there will be support for foreign investment opportunities that will stimulate the economy, transfer technology, and enhance local labor skills. Additionally, sustainability issues such as carbon credit trading and Future Food may become new sources of income for the public.
The outcomes of the APEC meeting will help revive and stimulate Thailand's economic growth post-COVID-19 in various sectors, particularly the service sector related to tourism and digital commerce, leading to income distribution and reduced inequality, which will promote inclusive and sustainable development in accordance with sustainable development goals.
This ABAC/APEC meeting represents an excellent opportunity to showcase the potential of the Thai business sector on the global stage, as Thailand is the second-largest economy in Southeast Asia with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of approximately 500 billion US dollars (equivalent to about 19 trillion baht). The private sector plays a crucial role in this growth, representing over 70% of GDP through exports, a robust industrial sector contributing about 40% of GDP, and a service sector contributing around 50% of GDP. Thailand's strengths lie in its tourism and financial services industries, as well as in food security, which highlights the country’s distinct advantages on the global stage.
How can the Thai people participate?
Entrepreneurs and the general public will be key drivers of the APEC economy, fostering progress and sustainability in the region. The participation of entrepreneurs involves adapting and seizing opportunities presented by ABAC, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of trade across all 21 economies, including Thailand. It involves developing systems to facilitate trade, reducing and eliminating trade barriers, and turning crises into opportunities for a sustainable and balanced transition to a post-COVID world, where everyone can contribute through the BCG concept that Thailand has championed while hosting ABAC/APEC.
MSMEs, which play a critical role in driving the economies of all regions, must be developed for prosperity while ensuring sustainability and self-reliance. The BCG Model can support this objective by fostering creativity, thinking outside the box, leveraging technology, and promoting research and innovation for business operations, which lie at the heart of the development under the BCG Model. This also represents an opportunity to create new businesses, particularly in the startup sector, while providing large companies as models for MSMEs, marking the beginning of development into the supply chains of major corporations, which will lead to integration into global supply chains in the future.
