One Province One Industry or 1 Province 1 Industry is a collaboration between provincial chambers of commerce and industry groups under the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), aimed at promoting innovation and new products tailored to the needs of each area through the One Province One Industry initiative.

Mr. Nawa Jantanusurakorn, Executive Committee member and Chairman of the One Province One Industry Working Group of the Federation of Thai Industries disclosed information about the project.

"The One Province One Industry Working Group or the 1 Province 1 Industry project, which is one of the ten working groups under the ONE FTI policy of Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), focuses on creating collaboration between provincial chambers of commerce and industry groups affiliated with FTI.

The One Province One Industry project, which commenced in 2023, is launching a total of 23 new projects resulting from collaborations between 16 industry groups and 17 provincial chambers of commerce, with project diversity tailored to align with the specific needs of each area and the expertise of various industry groups. Currently, nine key cooperation projects are underway.

The progress made from the pilot phase in 2023 by provincial chambers of commerce and industry groups ensures that the collaboration in the One Province One Industry project will expand further and intensify until significant network collaborations are established among every provincial chamber of commerce and every industry group in the near future."

• To promote the development of new products and services by provincial chambers of commerce and industry groups.

• To foster cooperation and integration of collaborative work between provincial chambers of commerce and industry groups.

• To leverage knowledge on technology and innovation from each industry, including the strengths of each province, such as geography, various resources, and the workforce in each area, to enhance capabilities, further develop, and elevate the competitiveness of operators for sustainable competition both domestically and internationally.

• To operate appropriately within the context of the area, thereby contributing to driving the economy of each locality and the country as a whole.

1. Development of Cassava Harvesting Machines Collaboration includes the Agricultural Machinery Industry Group, the Steel Industry Group, and the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

The two industry groups have collaborated to invest in the development of cassava harvesting machines to improve work speed and reduce the loss of cassava, thereby decreasing labor costs and increasing cassava yield. Surveys of land characteristics and studies on various constraints were conducted to develop and enhance the prototype harvesting machine's effectiveness, which is expected to be tested in Nakhon Ratchasima within the fourth quarter of 2023.

1. Greenhouse Gas Reduction Project in the Cement Industry (PPP-Saraburi Sandbox: A Low Carbon City) Collaboration includes the Cement Industry Group and the Saraburi Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This project operates in collaboration with all sectors to achieve the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions under the Collaborative towards Net Zero 2050 framework, aimed at achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 according to the Thailand Cement & Concrete Roadmap Net Zero 2050, which focuses on three main policies:

• Reducing greenhouse gases by promoting the use of hydraulic cement construction materials.

• Mining resources efficiently aligned with government policies, aiming for future water sources and community learning points.

• Creating an ecosystem for managing materials from various industries that are no longer used, supporting a circular economy.

1. Promotion of Modular House Construction Collaboration includes the Construction Materials Cluster (involving 13 industry groups), the Khon Kaen Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Udon Thani Provincial Chamber of Commerce, and the Phang Nga Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This project promotes the use of Modular Houses in new housing construction, allowing for quality control of the designs to ensure standards, speeding construction compared to traditional methods, thus effectively reducing costs and construction time. It applies advanced industrial technology for maximum efficiency, fostering new innovations in construction and promoting Green Construction Industry to meet modern consumer demands.

1. Digital Night Event Project Collaboration includes the Digital Industry Group, the Phuket Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Chiang Mai Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Samut Prakan Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Lamphun Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Kanchanaburi Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Nonthaburi Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Khon Kaen Provincial Chamber of Commerce, the Chonburi Provincial Chamber of Commerce, and the Udon Thani Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This project provides knowledge and guidance to entrepreneurs in various provinces on using digital technology tools to add value to products or services, helping FTI members advance towards excellence in digital domains and address the needs of modern rapidly growing businesses.

1. Study Project on the Utilization of Stone Dust from Crushing Plants Collaboration includes the Cement Industry Group, the Saraburi Provincial Chamber of Commerce, and the Loei Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This project aims to utilize stone dust, a byproduct from crushing plants, as raw material for various construction materials, adding value and generating revenue from industrial waste while enhancing environmental conservation.

1. Science Room for Students Project Collaboration includes the Electrical and Electronics Industry Group and the Ratchaburi Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This project aims to implement a science learning model, utilizing scientific equipment collaboratively designed by FTI members to educate middle school students in grades 7-9 or upper secondary students in grades 12-13, inspiring them to pursue knowledge in science and encouraging creativity in various scientific disciplines.

1. BCG Project Utilizing Fish Bones to Produce Calcium Collaboration includes the Biotechnology Industry Group, the Songkhla Provincial Chamber of Commerce, and the Pattani Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This initiative involves extracting and processing fish bones, a byproduct of food processing with no value that generates environmental pollution, into a high-nutritional dietary supplement. Additionally, it promotes efficient resource management, enabling the recycling of resources or materials, reducing waste generation, and addressing long-term environmental impacts under the concept of Circular Economy for sustainable economic development in the future.

1. Food Safety Management Throughout the Supply Chain Project Collaboration includes the Food Industry Group, the Chiang Mai Provincial Chamber of Commerce, and the Lamphun Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This project will disseminate knowledge on establishing environmentally friendly food security plans, advancing the agricultural and food policy of the "3S" - Food Safety (Safety), Food Security (Security), and Sustainability of Resources and Agricultural Ecosystems (Sustainability).

A seminar will be organized under the topic "In-depth Strategies for Food 3S to Position Northern Thailand as Asia's Food Hub" to develop and exchange knowledge and technology related to food research and development in Thailand, along with new agricultural methods (Smart Agriculture) to combat global warming and promote the export of quality agricultural products that are safe and meet international standards, striving to be the world's kitchen.

1. Project for Casting Aluminum Buddha Statues Collaboration includes the Aluminum Industry Group and the Nan Provincial Chamber of Commerce.

This final project involves casting Buddha statues from aluminum, which is typically used for manufacturing various containers. This project serves as an extension of aluminum's application for other purposes, enhancing the aluminum industry's competitiveness in various opportunities, while also promoting knowledge development among local entrepreneurs.
