เมื่อวันที่ 19 กุมภาพันธ์ 2567 นายมนตรี มหาพฤกษ์พงศ์ รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท) พร้อมด้วยนายปณิธาน ปวโรฬารวิทยา รองเลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท ได้ให้การต้อนรับนางสาวนิภา นิรันดร์นุต กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองดูไบ พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้แทนจากหอการค้าดูไบ (Dubai Chambers) และผู้แทนจากกระทรวงพาณิชย์ เพื่อหารือความร่วมมือในการขยายโอกาสด้านเศรษฐกิจและการลงทุนระหว่างรัฐดูไบกับประเทศไทย ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ส.อ.ท.
การหารือ มีประเด็นสำคัญ ดังนี้
• รัฐบาลดูไบได้ดำเนินการภายใต้นโยบายเศรษฐกิจ D33 ของรัฐ โดยดูไบมีการตั้งเป้าขยายขนาดเศรษฐกิจของรัฐดูไบให้เพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 2 เท่าภายในปี 2573 โดยรัฐดูไบได้ประกาศเมกะโปรเจกต์ (Mega project) ในการลงทุนระหว่างภาครัฐและเอกชน (PPP) เป็นเงินประมาณ 6,810 ล้านเหรียญดอลลาร์สหรัฐ ซึ่งทางดูไบต้องการระดมทุนจากต่างประเทศครอบคลุมโครงการเพื่อการพัฒนาเมือง การทำถนน และการก่อสร้าง รวมทั้งด้านสุขภาพและความปลอดภัย พร้อมทั้งเชิญชวนผู้ประกอบการไทยเข้าไปลงทุนในอุตสาหกรรมรายสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้อง
• การเปิดสำนักงานสาขาของหอการค้าดูไบ (Dubai International Chambers) ในต่างประเทศ ซึ่งประเทศไทยเป็นประเทศ ที่อยู่ในแผนการเปิดสาขาเพิ่ม ซึ่งคาดว่าจะเปิดสำนักงานที่ประเทศไทยได้ภายในเดือนพฤษภาคมนี้
• การวางแผนการจัดประชุมร่วมระหว่างสภาธุรกิจไทย-ยูเออีครั้งแรก ในช่วงระหว่างการจัดประชุมทวิภาคีไทย-ยูเออีในช่วงกลางปี 2567 นี้
On February 19, 2024, Mr. Montree Mahaprasitpong, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), together with Mr. Panithan Pawarolharwattana, Secretary General of the FTI, welcomed Ms. Nipa Nirunnarnut, Consul General in Dubai, along with a delegation from the Dubai Chambers and representatives from the Ministry of Commerce to discuss collaboration aimed at expanding economic and investment opportunities between the Dubai government and Thailand at the Mongkolsuthee room of FTI.
The discussion included important topics as follows:
• The Dubai government is implementing its D33 economic policy, with a goal to double the size of Dubai's economy by 2030. The government announced a mega project for investment between the public and private sectors (PPP) worth approximately 6.81 billion US dollars, seeking to attract foreign investment to cover urban development, road construction, as well as health and safety projects, while inviting Thai entrepreneurs to invest in related industries.
• The opening of branch offices of the Dubai Chambers (Dubai International Chambers) abroad, with Thailand being part of the plan to open new branches, which is expected to open an office in Thailand by May this year.
• Planning for the first joint meeting of the Thai-UAE Business Council during the bi-lateral meeting between Thailand and the UAE in mid-2024.
