เมื่อวันที่ 14 กรกฎาคม 2567 นายชาติชาย พานิชชีวะ รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เดินทางเข้าร่วมพิธีเปิดสำนักงานเศรษฐกิจการลงทุน เป็นสำนักงานเศรษฐกิจการลงทุนแห่งแรกในภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลางของ สำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุน (BOI) พร้อมเข้าร่วมบรรยายในงาน Saudi-Thailand Investment Forum 2024 โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก H.E. Mr. Khalid Al-Falih รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการลงทุนของซาอุดีอาระเบีย และนายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศของไทย ขึ้นกล่าวเปิดงาน ณ กรุงริยาด ซาอุดีอาระเบีย
ภายในงาน ได้มีการลงนามความร่วมมือ MOU ทางธุรกิจจำนวน 11 ฉบับ จากหลายอุตสาหกรรม เช่น อุตสาหกรรมการเกษตร อาหาร ชิ้นส่วนยานยนต์ วัสดุก่อสร้าง การจัดอีเวนท์และเทศกาล เกมและอีสปอร์ต การผลิตน้ำหอม และธุรกิจที่ปรึกษาเพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยังยืน เป็นต้น
นอกจากนี้ ยังได้มีการจัดกิจกรรมเจรจาธุรกิจ (Business Matching) ระหว่างหน่วยงานภาคเอกชนของไทยและภาคเอกชนของซาอุดีอาระเบีย ซึ่งมีภาคเอกชนไทยเข้าร่วมกว่า 32 บริษัท จำนวน 55 ราย ภาคเอกชนซาอุดีอาระเบียกว่า 134 บริษัท จำนวน 169 ราย ในสาขาธุรกิจที่มีศักยภาพ เช่น พลังงาน เกษตรและอาหาร การแพทย์ การบริการ เป็นต้น
On July 14, 2024, Mr. Chatchai Panichwatanawong, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), attended the opening ceremony of the Investment Promotion Office, which is the first Investment Promotion Office in the Middle East established by the Board of Investment (BOI). He also participated in the Saudi-Thailand Investment Forum 2024, graced by H.E. Mr. Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Mali Sudsangpong, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, who delivered the opening remarks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During the event, 11 business cooperation MOU agreements were signed across various industries, including agriculture, food, automotive parts, construction materials, event management, gaming and esports, perfume production, and consulting for sustainable development, among others.
Furthermore, business matching activities were organized between Thai and Saudi private sectors, with over 32 Thai companies participating, totaling 55 representatives, and over 134 Saudi companies with 169 representatives from promising business sectors such as energy, agriculture and food, medical services, and more.
