เมื่อวันที่ 6 - 7 กันยายน 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ร่วมรับเสด็จสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ในโอกาสเสด็จพระราชดำเนินทรงเป็นประธานเปิดงานประชุมวิชาการเนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 100 ปี ราชบัณฑิตยสภา เรื่องราชบัณฑิต มองไกล นำวิจัย ปรับตัวรับมือโลกร้อน โดยได้ร่วมกิจกรรมเสวนาภายใต้หัวข้อการมีส่วนร่วมของภาคธุรกิจเอกชนเพื่อรับมือโลกร้อน ณ ห้องบอลรูม ศูนย์การประชุมแห่งชาติสิริกิติ์
นายเกรียงไกร ได้นำเสนอการดำเนินงานของ ส.อ.ท. ต่อการรับมือต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ โดยการยกระดับขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมเดิมหรือ First Industries และสร้างอุตสาหกรรมใหม่หรือ Next gen Industries ให้เป็นอุตสาหกรรมเพื่อความยั่งยืน โดยเน้นการส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนอุตสาหกรรมขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม หรือ SME ที่ยังต้องการความช่วยเหลือ โดย ส.อ.ท. ได้จัดตั้งสถาบันเพื่อขับเคลื่อนอุตสาหกรรมสู่ความยั่งยืน ได้แก่ สถาบันน้ำและสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่ออุตสาหกรรม สถาบันการจัดการบรรจุภัณฑ์และรีไซเคิลเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อม สถาบันพลังงานเพื่ออุตสาหกรรม และสถาบันการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ เพื่อให้การสนับสนุนภาคอุตสาหกรรมสู่ความยั่งยืนต่อไป
ทั้งนี้ ราชบัณฑิตยสภา จัดกิจกรรมประชุมวิชาการเนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 100 ปี ราชบัณฑิตยสภา เรื่องราชบัณฑิต มองไกล นำวิจัย ปรับตัวรับมือโลกร้อน เพื่อศึกษาหาแนวทางแก้ปัญหาและป้องกันผลกระทบของการเปลี่ยนแปลงภูมิอากาศภาวะโลกร้อนระหว่างวันที่ 6 - 7 กันยายน 2567
On September 6-7, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), welcomed Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the occasion of her visit to preside over the academic conference marking the 100th anniversary of the Royal Society, themed "Royal Scholars Looking Ahead: Utilizing Research to Adapt to Global Warming." He participated in a dialogue under the topic of private sector involvement to combat global warming at the Ballroom of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Mr. Kriangkrai presented the FTI's initiatives in addressing climate change by enhancing the competitiveness of industries within the traditional sectors or First Industries and creating new industries or Next Gen Industries to promote sustainability. He emphasized the support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are still in need of assistance. The FTI has established institutions to drive the industry toward sustainability, including the Water and Environment Institute for Industry, the Packaging and Recycling Management Institute for the Environment, the Energy Institute for Industry, and the Climate Change Institute, to provide ongoing support for the industrial sector.
The Royal Society organized this academic conference to mark its 100th anniversary, themed "Royal Scholars Looking Ahead: Utilizing Research to Adapt to Global Warming," to examine ways to address and mitigate the impacts of climate change and global warming from September 6-7, 2024.
