เมื่อวันที่ 2 มิถุนายน 2568 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วย รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. นายวิเชาวน์ รักพงษ์ไพโรจน์ นายอรินทร์ จิรา และนายอสิ ตัณสถิตย์ ได้ร่วมแสดงความยินดีกับ นายเปาโล ดีโอนีซี (H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi) เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอิตาลีประจำประเทศไทย เนื่องในโอกาสวันชาติอิตาลี ณ ศูนย์การประชุมแห่งชาติสิริกิติ์
ทั้งนี้ ไทยและอิตาลีได้เริ่มสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตอย่างเป็นทางการมาตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1868 และทั้งสองประเทศได้ดำเนินความร่วมมืออย่างใกล้ชิดกันในหลายมิติ โดยเฉพาะในด้านเศรษฐกิจ อิตาลีเป็นหนึ่งในประเทศคู่ค้าสำคัญของไทยในสหภาพยุโรป และเป็นแหล่งเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมที่มีศักยภาพสูง ทั้งยังมีความร่วมมือที่เข้มแข็งกับไทยในภาคอุตสาหกรรมหลัก เช่น เครื่องจักรกล อาหารแปรรูป ยานยนต์ แฟชั่น การออกแบบ เป็นต้น ซึ่งล้วนเป็นรากฐานสำคัญในการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจอย่างยั่งยืนของทั้งสองฝ่ายในระยะยาว
On June 2, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with FTI Vice Presidents Mr. Wichawut Rukpongphairoj, Mr. Arin Jira, and Mr. Asi Tansathit, extended their congratulations to H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Thailand, on the occasion of Italy's National Day at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Thailand and Italy have established formal diplomatic relations since 1868, and both countries have closely collaborated across various dimensions, particularly in the economic sector. Italy is one of Thailand's key trading partners within the European Union and serves as a source of high-potential technology and innovation. Additionally, there is strong cooperation with Thailand in core industries such as machinery, processed food, automotive, fashion, and design, all of which serve as essential foundations for the sustainable economic development of both parties in the long term.
