เมื่อวันที่ 26 เมษายน 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายกฤษณ์ อิ่มแสง เลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. และนายธนารักษ์ พงษ์เภตรา นายอภิชิต ประสพรัตน์ ดร.ปิยะนุช มาลากุล ณ อยุธยา นายวิวรรธน์ เหมมณฑารพ นางสาวพิมพ์นารา จิรานิธิศนนท์ นายวิบูลย์ หงษ์ศรีจินดา นายอรุณ เอี่ยมสุรีย์ นายอดุล ขาวละออ กรรมการ ส.อ.ท. และกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้อง เข้าพบศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์สิริฤกษ์ ทรงศิวิไล ประธานกรรมการส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (กสว.) เพื่อร่วมการประชุมกับสำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (สกสว.) ครั้งที่ 1/2567 หัวข้อ “การยกระดับความสามารถในการแข่งขันของภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยด้วยวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม” ณ ห้องพญาไท 1 ชั้น 6 โรงแรมอีสติน แกรนด์ พญาไท กรุงเทพฯ
สกสว. เป็นหน่วยงานกลางของประเทศที่มีหน้าที่ในการส่งเสริม สนับสนุนและขับเคลื่อนระบบวิจัยและนวัตกรรมของประเทศในทุกด้าน เพื่อให้เกิดการพัฒนาประเทศอย่างสมดุลและยั่งยืน อีกทั้งปัจจุบัน ภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยกำลังเผชิญกับความท้าทายหลายประการ โดยเฉพาะการเปลี่ยนแปลงเทคโนโลยีอย่างรวดเร็ว ส่งผลให้ภาคอุตสาหกรรมจำเป็นต้องปรับเปลี่ยนการดำเนินธุรกิจไปสู่การใช้นวัตกรรมต่อยอดสินค้าและบริการที่สร้างมูลค่าเพิ่ม
จากการหารือ ที่ประชุมมีความเห็นตรงกันว่า ในเวลานี้มีความจำเป็นที่ประเทศไทย จะต้องยกระดับภาคอุตสาหกรรมจากอุตสาหกรรมดั้งเดิม (First Industries) สู่อุตสาหกรรมใหม่ (Next-Gen Industries) จึงมีมติให้จัดตั้งคณะกรรมการร่วมกันระหว่าง สกสว. และ ส.อ.ท. เพื่อกำหนดโจทย์การวิจัยและนวัตกรรม และงบประมาณสนับสนุน โดยอาศัยกลไกของระบบวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (ววน.) ในแต่ละกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมาย เช่น การขับเคลื่อนโครงการส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมเกษตรอัจฉริยะ หรือ Smart Agricultural Industry (SAI) โดยการดำเนินโครงการฯ จะต้องวัดผลได้และนำไปสู่การยกระดับการวิจัยสู่เชิงพาณิชย์ต่อไป
On April 26, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Tiranukul, the Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Kritsana Imsang, the Secretary-General of FTI, and Mr. Thanarak Pongpetrak, Mr. Apichit Pasornprath, Dr. Piyanuj Malakul na Ayudhya, Mr. Wiwat Hemmandharak, Ms. Pimnara Jiranithisanon, Mr. Wiboon Hongsrichinda, Mr. Arun Eamsuree, and Mr. Adul Khaolaor, all members of FTI, and relevant industrial groups, met with Professor Dr. Siriruek Songsiwilai, the Chairman of the Science, Research and Innovation Promotion Committee (GSI), to participate in the first meeting of the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Office (NSTDA) for the year 2024. The topic of discussion was “Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Thai Industry through Science, Research, and Innovation” at the Phayathai Room 1, 6th Floor, Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai, Bangkok.
The NSTDA serves as the national central agency responsible for promoting, supporting, and driving the country's research and innovation systems in all aspects to achieve balanced and sustainable national development. Currently, the Thai industrial sector is facing several challenges, particularly rapid technological changes, which necessitate that the industry adapts its business operations to leverage innovations that enhance the value-added of products and services.
From the discussions, the meeting unanimously agreed that it is crucial for Thailand to elevate its industrial sector from traditional industries (First Industries) to new industries (Next-Gen Industries). Therefore, it was resolved to establish a joint committee between the NSTDA and FTI to define the research and innovation agendas and budgetary support, utilizing the mechanisms of the science, research, and innovation system (SRI) across various target industrial groups, such as the promotion of the Smart Agricultural Industry (SAI). The implementation of projects must be measurable and lead to enhancing research towards commercialization.
