วันจันทร์ที่ 16 กันยายน 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายอรินทร์ จิรา รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. และนายญาณพล ลิมปนะโชคชัย รองเลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. ร่วมให้การต้อนรับและหารือกับอิสซา อับดุลเลาะฮ์ ญาบิร อัลอาลาวี (H.E. Mr. Issa Abdullah Jaber Al Alawi) เอกอัครราชทูตโอมานประจำประเทศไทย เพื่อประสานความร่วมมือ และผลักดันการค้า การลงทุนระหว่างกัน ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ส.อ.ท.
โอมานมีความต้องการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านพลังงานทดแทน เกษตร ประมง ความมั่นคงทางอาหาร ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับนโยบาย Oman Vision 2040 ที่มุ่งไปสู่เป้าหมาย เช่น การสร้างความหลากหลายให้กับเศรษฐกิจ การกระจายความเสี่ยงของเศรษฐกิจน้ำมัน การยกระดับนวัตกรรมทางเศรษฐกิจ ควบคู่ไปกับการพัฒนาสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืน เพื่อสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมด้านการลงทุนที่ดีให้แก่ภาคธุรกิจ อีกทั้งโอมานมีท่าเรือน้ำลึกที่สำคัญ ซึ่งสามารถเป็นศูนย์กลางทางการค้าและโลจิสติกส์ที่สำคัญของภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลางได้
ทั้งนี้ ในการหารือ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้เสนอให้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับโอกาสทางการค้า การลงทุนระหว่างไทยกับโอมาน เพื่อให้ภาคเอกชนได้รับทราบถึงโอกาส และลู่ทางการค้าระหว่างกันมากขึ้น อาทิ การจัดสัมมนาออนไลน์ และการแลกเปลี่ยนการเยือนของภาคธุรกิจในอนาคต
On Monday, September 16, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Arin Jira, Vice Chairman of FTI, and Mr. Yanaphol Limpana Chokchai, Assistant Secretary-General of FTI, welcomed and discussed with H.E. Mr. Issa Abdullah Jaber Al Alawi, the Ambassador of Oman to Thailand, to coordinate cooperation and promote trade and investment between the two parties at the Mongkolsuthee Room, FTI.
Oman has expressed a desire to enhance cooperation in the areas of renewable energy, agriculture, fisheries, and food security, which aligns with the Oman Vision 2040 policy aimed at achieving goals such as diversifying the economy, mitigating risks from the oil economy, and advancing economic innovation alongside sustainable environmental development to create a favorable investment climate for the business sector. Additionally, Oman possesses important deep-sea ports that can serve as a crucial center for trade and logistics in the Middle East region.
During the discussions, both parties proposed to exchange information regarding trade and investment opportunities between Thailand and Oman, to better inform the private sector about emerging opportunities and trade channels, such as organizing online seminars and facilitating reciprocal business visits in the future.
