การขนส่งสินค้าเป็นเพียงหนึ่งในกิจกรรมด้านโลจิสติกส์ เพื่อกระจายสินค้าหรือขนถ่ายสินค้าไปยังผู้ที่อยู่ปลายทาง นั่นก็คือลูกค้า ด้วยวิธีการขนส่งทางถนน ทางรถไฟ ทางน้ำ และทางอากาศ นอกจากนี้ในอุตสาหกรรรมโลจิสติกส์ยังประกอบไปด้วยกิจกรรมอื่น ๆ อีก เช่น การให้บริการศูนย์กระจายสินค้า การบริหารและการจัดเก็บสินค้า การดูแลและบริการคลังสินค้า การบริการด้านพิธีการส่งออกและนำเข้าสินค้า ทั้งนี้ ผู้ประกอบการด้านโลจิสติกส์ต้องบริหารค่าใช้จ่ายให้มีต้นทุนน้อยที่สุด ซึ่งเป็นโจทย์ที่ท้าทายความสามารถในการแข่งขันด้านการให้บริการแก่ลูกค้าอย่างยิ่งTransportation of goods is merely one of the activities within logistics to distribute or transfer products to the final destination, which is the customer. This includes transportation methods by road, rail, water, and air. Additionally, the logistics industry comprises various other activities, such as providing distribution center services, managing and storing goods, warehouse management services, and customs services for the import and export of goods. Logistics operators must manage costs to keep them as low as possible, which poses a significant challenge to their competitive capabilities in delivering services to customers.
