This marks the first increase in five months, supported by the growth of domestic consumption, particularly in the tourism sector, both from Thai citizens and foreigners. Additionally, measures to alleviate the cost of living, such as adjustments to fuel and electricity prices, as well as debt suspension measures for farmers, have enhanced the purchasing power of the population. This has resulted in an increase in consumption and domestic spending, reflected in the rising indices of orders and sales across durable and semi-durable goods, as well as consumer products. Meanwhile, the export sector showed signs of improvement due to the recovery of demand from trading partners compared to the previous month, leading the manufacturing sector to accelerate in order to accommodate increased orders and sales in anticipation of the end-of-year festivals. Furthermore, confidence regarding operational costs improved due to a reduction in energy prices.
However, there are still risk factors related to rising financial costs stemming from increased borrowing interest rates, as well as the persistent high levels of household debt, particularly personal loans and car loans, which continue to pressure consumers’ purchasing power, alongside the tightening of lending policies by financial institutions.
